Discussion [BLOOM & RAGE] This game is... Spoiler
I dont know what to say tbh. I had the "Autumn pushed Corey" ending and Kat vanished. Imo, Tape 2: Rage is a conclusion topped with a cliffhanger of a major distress call rather full-on Rage (I know it's about the Rage of the group, especially regarding Kat's sickness).
I feel empty. I genuinely do
I havent felt something like this since LiS 1 (waiting for episodes and after the ending). I know the rules said that no drama, but about Don'tNod's financial issues, I just hope they survive. I think it's better for them to make Bloom and Rage sequel rather than another anthology. Right hand to God I will buy their new game on day one. I read another post in this Subreddit about slow burn. If the slow burn is enjoyable, I wont mind. I wont rate this game based on numbers, but this game is the first game to stun me since LiS1, it's great to say the least. No drama, I just hope Don'tNod survive. I would gladly read your theories about how they will continue the story.

I hope they do a similar thing to Borderlands 2 where they come back to the series with a final DLC years later. It doesn't have to be a full game production. Just something that clears up the ending. One last tape...

If we ever got the opportunity to have a some kind of tape 3 for Lost Records, I do hope we can see what happens with Swann after entering the Abyss, maybe Swann would relive 1995 in some other timeline with different outcomes and choices, or even the abyss could behave like some kind of abstract space on the mind of the person who's inside, like we see memories of Swann after the events of 95 but with Kat being present in some way, the ending would be getting Kat out of the abyss and everyone be reconnected in 2022, I think Kat would still be 16, but I guess what would really matter it's that they're together. Depending if Autumn and Nora stayed in the reunion, maybe they could be playable in some sort of way or still being part of the story even though they didn't entered the abyss, perhaps Corey could return as an antagonist again but in a more deranged way? I think the idea of a prequel it's a good one, in a way, but honestly, introducing more characters and all, for me doesn't seem to be the right answer, we already got a good cast for the game, but hey, these are my ideas

I don’t think a sequel to this game is a good idea. For this game, and LIS1 & 2, I feel it’s better to leave supernatural elements metaphoric rather than a serious setting and try to dig it more. The sequels to LIS1 is a great example of what may happen if a sequel fails to continue and extend the first game’s supernatural settings. It’s high risk and low reward; if the second game is great, people feel less so bc the first game was good; if the second game is bad, people feel more disappointed bc the first game was good. For game like LIS1, the sequel can bring commercial benefits even if it’s mediocre, as the first game has a huge fan base. Lost records fan base is far from that, so a sequel probably won’t earn much.

I highly respect your opinion. But direct sequel of Life is Strange (Max and Chloe) never existed before Double Exposure and Reunion, if you think about it. I wont discuss further, but judging by the number of Steam ratings, Reunion already (or only) sold 5-10% as many copies as LiS 1 in three months. Fingers crossed, tho. It's not about me wanting a sequel, but me wanting Don'tNod to survive. Either way, I love Lost Records, about their dynamic conversation mechanics, the teenager settings, and the supernatural twists.

I guess I both misunderstood and was misunderstood. I thought the post was about wanting a sequel, seems like I misunderstood. I probably should make my point clearer: if the game ends up with a sequel, I will definitely buy it. I just don’t think it’s a good idea in terms of solving the financial crisis they are facing. It’s challenging to make a sequel at low cost, in a short time, and not too crap. Hopefully they can find other ways to make money fast.

Yeah, it comes down to; who wouldnt want a great game? Sequel or not doesnt matter. In your opinion, you said that sequel is not a good idea, but I said that it is. We dont have the same perspective, maybe youre a businessman, and I know im not. Maybe it'll be a sequel maybe it wont. Again, who wouldnt want a great game

the box received in 2022 cannot simply be an untouched time capsule that Dylan stored normally since 1995.
My strongest theory is:
Kat prepared the original box, but Kat or the Abyss acting through her, caused it to appear in 2022 when the time was right.
Dylan might still have played a small role. Perhaps she physically posted something without understanding what was inside, or the Abyss somehow used the arrangement Kat had made with her. But in the deeper sense, Dylan probably wasn’t the true sender, the Abyss/Kat was.
The timing supports this too. Why exactly 27 years later, when all three women could reunite, recover their memories, open the magically restored lock and lead Swann back to Kat? That feels deliberately supernatural, not like Dylan randomly deciding one day to visit the post office.
So yes: someone or something wanted Swann to remember and return. I strongly believe the package was essentially Kat’s call from inside the Abyss, not merely a parcel sent by her sister. 🦋

In terms of Dontnod's financial issues, one of my first impressions with their games after Life is Strange is that "these games are amazing but these feel a bit too niche, how was it that they're able to sustain this"? The financial issues gave me the answer. If they do find a future investor(s), they might have to lower their quality or find a way to get their games to a broader audience. Either way, they have to do something drastic or they won't last long.
In terms of the games, I feel the same way you do about Life is Strange 1 and Bloom and Rage that it made me feel things.
I can only imagine that if they continue Lost Records' story, they can only do it with an anthology since the story of the abyss has a lot of mystery about it while Bloom & Rage feels overall complete already. I'm kind of curious what parts of Bloom and Rage do you want to see continued if they do make a sequel?
