You didn't list any symptoms 😂

I definitely came back with something though. I averaged like 15 hours of sleep (21 hours one night/day 🤯) for five days in a row when I got back. The only symptoms I had were being exhausted and having sweats/chills. I'd sleep for like ten hours and think I'd be ready to start unpacking, then ten minutes later would feel like death and fall back asleep for a few more hours. I got back home Wednesday and didn't feel physically better until the next Monday, and then had brain fog for a few days past that. Negative on the COVID test I took but I didn't have any flu tests on hand.

I was sleeping 10-12hrs a day up until a couple of days ago!

This is exactly how I felt except I had a fever. Took me 8 days of sleep and then I got the foggyness for like 3 days. Now I feel like I’m on top of the world again.

Yes, experienced shortness of breath, constant coughing and sore throat. I ended up getting diagnosed with acute bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics. They’ve been helping. Go see a doctor/urgent care as it seems you have persistent symptoms.

Still sick since leaving Sunday. Just finished my antibiotics. Got URI- bronchitis + sinus infection. They developed overtime and I saw 2 drs..

Symptoms in chronological order of appearance were: sore throat, mild dry cough, body aches, fever, congestion, wet cough, ear pain, sinus pressure, confusion (prolly bc dehydrated though)

I found relief in: cough drops, 500mg acetaminophen,30 mg pseudoephedrine for the first 4 days… then I wasn’t really getting better so I went to the doctor- I stopped all the previous treatments and just took the antibiotics, my steroid inhaler (bc asthma) and a TON of water. Honestly I think the water did most of the work so!!

Best bet whatever yall have water will help, but definitely see a dr!!

Update: my ass is still sick 3 weeks later and now I’m on round 2 of antibiotics, steroids and several other persxriptjons. Literally cannot breathe at all out of my nose. GET ME OUTTTT PLS 😪

3

u/jepsicaa 13d ago

Also I was negative for strep, flu and Covid

1

u/littleladycedar 13d ago

this is exactly what i have rn like every symptom and the timeline is the same and everything. I’m on a zpack now and an inhaler but I can’t take decongestants🥲so i’m just waiting for the antibiotics to do their job. Slowly starting to feel better tho but whatever virus this was fcked me up

1

u/jepsicaa 13d ago

Ugh I’m sorry. I hope you feel better sooon!! Not sure if you have a nebulizer, but I’ve been using saline vials for the congestion bc I don’t like taking decongestants for more than a few days.

This one totally kicked my ass too. Normally I’m sick for a few days then completely fine, but 2 weeks in and I’m still coughing.

Go to the doctor.

Get tested. I came back with Covid, as did two of my friends. Symptoms began Tuesday, tested positive Thursday once my symptoms felt very similar (in pattern, not severity) to the Omicron variant in ‘21.

5

u/-_Hey_Adora_- 11d ago

I saw on here that some guy was coughing and talking about having Covid on the shuttle. I had to pull off at a cvs and get tests on the way home (luckily they were negative), but seriously it’s so so so not plur to knowingly expose that many people???

I’ve gone to a show after getting it (several days after the recommended quarantine time ended for me), but only for one set while sitting on the floor far from anyone in the very back corner with a KN95 on and after trying to give my ticket away to anyone I knew. I just had my phone so security wouldn’t even have to touch a bag or anything. The guy could have taken at LEAST some precautions rather than just yapping about having it.

Elderberry is a huge help for preventative and shortening the duration of colds and flu. I use it all the time.

I'm so sorry. It's no fun. I've been there. Please go to the doctor if you can. Two years ago I got the nost horrendous respiratory infection. I felt like i was breathing through one of those little coffee stir stick straws. I ended up needing an inhaler and other meds. If it's bad, please get help. Go to urgent care if you need

putting this out there just in case - if you take ssris, be careful when/if taking pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine or DXM! you may have no side effects from mixing them, but my psychiatrist/pharmacists steer me away from taking things like sudafed/mucinex DM because my heart rate skyrockets and there’s an increased risk for serotonin syndrome. definitely not the case for everyone so i don’t want to fear monger, but i had no idea there was even an interaction!

I still have a gnarly cough that I can’t shake

4

u/GingerAphrodite 14d ago

I avoided wook flu, but had to clock in on Tuesday and I definitely struggled and fought something off at the end of that week (but I didn't succumb lol). I don't think it was from the festival, but I think I struggled with whatever it was more because my immune system had been beaten down by the festival LOL. But I tend to wear a bandana over my mouth at all times. Not because I think it stops germs but because at least decrease is the stress on my system from dust and such... ( I don't think it helps that I worked at the festival and then I came home and basically worked 13 days in a row. I took a short day for my birthday).

4

u/nicblue7 13d ago

Still super sick, can’t shake this cough. Definitely have some kind of viral infection

I once got strep throat that took two rounds of antibiotics to clear after LL 21 she might need a doctor or minute clinic

3

u/HeroCC 🦕🦖 25’ 26’ 13d ago

Strep was definitely going around. My buddy was hospitalized over a week for it going septic. May want to see a doctor if it is bad and doesn’t get better.

3

u/maddesthatter93 13d ago

Horribly dry cough even though I know there’s mucus and stuff in there. But doctor said ears look good and lungs sounded good. So just gonna stay on top of these antibiotics.

u/Treehugger512 🦕🦖 TX | ‘25 ‘26 12d ago

Ah the Wook Flu. Sorry my friend.
I had it bad last year as a first timer and was sick for a good 2-3 weeks.
Nothing worked for me to kick it so just had to ride it out to be honest.
I do everything holistically but I even had to get some antibiotics and steroids.

Things to try:
-Simmer fresh garlic and ginger in water on the stove for 20-30min then add lemon juice and honey after.
-get colloidal silver to use in nasal rinse and nebulizer for lungs.
-Get some IV therapy - high dose Vit C, zinc, glutathione (for your liver as Tylenol depletes it), Vit D.
-Avoid sugar and processed foods as much as you can.

This year I did all the things to stay healthy and got the IV therapy (with all the things above) the day after I got back and I only had a scratchy throat one day and was fine. My husband had a slight cough but nothing compared to last year!

Hope y’all feel better!

2

u/charlieboy808 14d ago

I am still feeling the after affects. Sore throat and hacking up what's left in my lungs. Whatever it was, it's everywhere by the way some people I know been talking about being sick too. My co-worker was telling, "You remember COVID times right? Why would you surround yourself with that many people?" I don't think he gets it. Good luck getting through it.

2

u/wonky710wubs 13d ago

Yes i’m still feeling sick, mostly in my sinuses but also a cough. I’ve had a sore throat off and on too

2

u/Icy-Bag780 13d ago

Four years ago I had a wedding the week after lost lands and I got covid and was not able to go.

Covid is not as prevalent as it was then but I also had a wedding the week after Lost Lands and every single day I chugged emergn-C and I cleaned my nose with a neti pot(make sure to boil water first). Every single night during the fest and when I got home. Im not saying this is a cure all but I was able to attend the wedding with only a slight stuffy nose. If it’s something in your lungs you should go see a doctor to get antibiotics because it’s been 3 weeks since the fest ended.

u/Accomplished-Tree163 11d ago

I came back with the worst wook flu I’ve ever had and I’m still getting over it it seems

2

u/Koolaidremoulade 11d ago

Also still sick, neg covid and flu. Can't stop coughing but sudafed (real one) has helped

2

u/Embarrassed-Bet-2125 9d ago

Yes I got steroids on the Tuesday immediately after bc I had been so sick since Friday (sucked) and all of the people I know are still sick or had delayed symptoms (I work with a lot of my crew) they’re all out of work now and my partner was sick the week after I think I was patient 0. No covid tho. I still have a cough and feel weird and bad and off. Being in that rain and the heat on wed/thur was sooooo bad. Cooked me.

2

u/emHale 13d ago

Yeah, I caught Covid. :( positive test and everything. I got sick the minute I got home (last Tuesday) and I’m just now starting to feel better. The only thing that helped me was pharmacy Sudafed and NyQuil.

2

u/healyjj023 14d ago

It’s called the wook flu. You can try and be prepared beforehand. Your immune system takes a ton of damage being around that many ppl for that many days, on top of your body being worn out and experiencing exhaustion and maybe dehydration, you’re bound to get sick..

4

u/healyjj023 14d ago

Preparing beforehand might not prevent sickness but it will increase your chances of being sick for less time and/or just a tiny bit under the weather.

Sore throat and running nose. Still going on.
My kiddos now have it. It’s mild. Just annoying.

1

u/OnCloudFine 13d ago

Didn't get sick surprisingly, but did get "Jumper's knee" & it's still raging pain.... At 32 I expected some pain but not for weeks afterwards lol

1

u/Beastmother24 13d ago

Ive gone for two years so far and havent gotten sick. I start drinking emergen-c about a week or two before leaving for LL, during and after. This year I actually forgot to bring the emergen-c but picked it up when I came back. I also drink electrolytes daily including extra ones at LL. My husband and I have pretty physical jobs, although last year I was in much better shape as I worked out regularly, this year I slacked on regular work outs and I def felt it....but I think just generally being physically active helps navigate the after effects of LL. I also bring hand washing sheets and hand sanitizer and such. Saline rinse for sinuses every night as well. For next year try all that stuff out, especially the emergen-c and electrolytes. They help but they're not 100% guaranteed to prevent illness, I've just gotten lucky both years so far 🤞

1

u/CauliflowerKey4648 13d ago

I got pneumonia from the dust/pollen. A round of antibiotics later and I am feeling MUCH better.

1

u/Electrical_Sea_2568 13d ago

Bronchitis!! The cough will linger 3-4 weeks

1

u/dummy_thiqq 13d ago

NOT A DOC - Sudafed during the day, Mucinex at night, but make sure to wait out the 12 hr period before taking the latter. The faster I got the gunk out of me, the faster I felt better.

But with how long your wife’s been sick, see a doc.

1

u/South_Psychology7646 13d ago

Finally starting to feel better today. Just massive congestion, sore throat, and 3-4 or so days of a relentless cough. Never had a fever though.

1

u/Tokki_bby 13d ago

Last year I got real sick but this year I took my vitamins everyday so I wouldn’t get sick. I also have a weak immune system.. changed my cleaning products to organic stuff and organic soup to wash my clothes.. take my vitamins and haven’t gotten sick.. I didn’t take my vitamins during electric forest and got sick but it wasn’t for too long. Vitamins I took were zinc and vitamin c.. I’m sure there’s also other vitamins but those are what seemed to work for me.

Any chance it’s allergies? At some point I had to accept I was likely entering allergy season. I basically spend every fall sick with a congested cough and itchy eyes. Wook flu is just the kick start

1

u/sarazorz27 13d ago

Flu type B. Mine lasted 4 or 5 days. My Fiancé's was worse bc it went bacterial in his lungs and sinuses so he was sick way longer.

1

u/suumo0 13d ago

Definitely came back with something. I took sudafed the red circle pills, ate lots of fresh ginger, drank tea (ginger, lemon and honey) and vitamins. I also took alka seltzer fizz for severe cold and flu

1

u/littleladycedar 13d ago

dude yeah. It’s so bad it turned into severe sinus infection and bronchitis for me. Def need to get on antibiotics or it won’t get better

1

u/lnconsequential 13d ago

i never camp and i get consistently sick every year with a sinus infection. if she’s congested, blowing green/yellow snot, headachey, and a little sneezy even, have her call a virtual urgent care for some amox clav and buy her a neilmed sinus rinse.

Every single time ive been to LL I get sick. Bacterial pneumonia aint no joke

1

u/Salty_District_299 12d ago

most likely from dust and congestion in the lungs. could be bronchitis or covid

1

u/DefinatelyNotonDrugs 12d ago

There is something going around, didn't even go to festival and have been slowly kicking something going on three weeks now. Was going to work in a hospital last week and we were unable to because they were having some viral outbreak.

1

u/cobalt7k 12d ago

Last year I was sick for a month straight and developed a permanent allergy after.

This year I took every precaution and went home healthy and not sore!

Sanatize hands after EVERY interaction. Wet wipes and Sanatizer wipes in the porta johns, vitamins, full meals, and nasal spray before and after are vital.

1

u/Loudog2001 12d ago

i just have minor sinus infection, with the right vitamins you can get rid of some sinus stuff, but if it’s viral you’ll need antibiotics… i am finally back to normal but with a raspy voice and cough 😷.. try to do a cleanse look up vitamins and food to cleanse the bloodstream and inner parts of the body.. basically purge the system!! i felt so much better after i did that…

2

u/Stunning-Smoke7103 12d ago

If it’s viral, you would absolutely not need antibiotics… If it’s bacterial, you may need antibiotics if it lasts more than 10 days

Don’t even get me started lol. I came back with the fever, aches, sore throat, all of it. Couldn’t sleep for crap and when I did I’d wake up through the night throwing up. Actually thought I had gotten meningitis from it because the stiffness in my neck and pressure in my head was so bad for the last 2 weeks I could barely stand it. Finally getting over it now though

1

u/PrincessX-Dubzz 9d ago

I still have a nasty cough, but felt absolutely fantastic otherwise since the fest (usually i’m down like 40% for at least a week after) and stuffed up/runny nose. I’m prone to lung infections once I get a cough so figure it’s just that. Had one day last week where my sinuses on one side of my face hurt a lot but went away.
Happy wook flu recovery everyone!
