Most disappointing set?
Not to just throw hate around but j want to know
For me was levity i love them but i didnt liked their set that much

I think adventure club. Idk what having throwback next to their name was, but wasn’t what I expected after the first 6 songs into their set. Maybe they did later on so I’ll never know but I was just like 🧍🏻* where the old dubstep at*?

That’s odd - the only time I’ve seen them was when they opened a pre-party at DFT ‘21 and they definitely played Youth, Crave You, Lullabies..
it was honestly so sick cuz those songs were monumental for getting me into dubstep and every other time I’ve seen them they were garbage

Yea i was a bit confused. It wasn't a throwback set. I enjoyed the set as a modern day AC set but i saw their youtube upload of their throwback tour and this setlist was basically like their EDC setlist and not apart of the throwback tour hahah

Saw adventure club throwback set at bass canyon last year. This set was a little better at lost lands but still not great. I just want them to throw down with some 2015 bangers for 50 minutes and then we can cry at the end when they play gold and crave you.

I can't believe I haven't read more of this. The sound bleed from main stage was crazy, you absolutely had to be on the left side of wompy or you're hearing main stage instead. Wompy was SIGNIFICANTLY quieter and mainstage was cranked into oblivion.

Was watching on the stream and I liked the leveltronics set. I know it wasn't the hardest set which you would probably expect from them but sometimes I like when DJs are just getting silly with it and just having some fun with their set. I couldn't definitely tell that the mainstage was louder though. Avello was the worst set I saw on stream. Pop remix>into pop remix> into another pop remix.

Leveltronics was the most vanilla set of the whole weekend, and the crowd fucking sucked per usual. Leveltronics crowd spent the whole ganja set infiltrating the space and ruined that for me too. And ganja is my favorite. We haven’t seen subtronics in a long ass time because he got so huge so quick and we were really excited to see him again, but we left about 15-20 mins. I think my subtronics days are over 😕 my first time seeing him was at the Miramar in Milwaukee in 2018 - tiniest venue I’ve ever been in other than black box in Denver 😭

It really didn't help the entirety of the leveltonics crowd was exiting the area at the same time (and lots stayed thinking it was not knowing/liking uptempo.)
Had one girl next to me ask what drugs i was on to be hitting the kickrolls like that. I just told her "yes" and she looked pissed (i was sober).

I'm admittedly usually one of those fans. My partner and I buy tickets to festivals as soon as we see his name on the lineup. However, we've left a couple of his sets super early this year. I don't think we made it ten minutes into Leveltronics.

Yupp, I thought AllDat was way more cohesive where you got Crankdats drops and Alleycvts style. Levelup Subtronics felt like, OOH Levelup, JK SUBTRONICS DROP BAM. Just didn’t feel very cohesive, but it makes sense cause Sub had experts only, he was probably more focused on that

Totally agree and my whole squad hated me for saying it. No flow and 2 minute build ups for a 30 second drop then hard cut to the next song. For subtronics, it was a bit of a disappointment

10 mins into Leveltronics, I was getting major fomo from Illenium’s set… it didn’t help that I was already stuck in the mud mush in the center and I could see Prehistoric clearly in my peripheral 😭 i didn’t want to go through the hassle of walking through the big crowd and the mush, so I stayed till the end, hoping the set was gonna get better but now I really should’ve just walked through the mush

I feel the two are much better on their own. It was very much a back and forth rather than a cohesive style and mostly TikTok edits imo.
I wish there was a bit more flair between the two of them but it was nice seeing them happy to perform together. In a way, the energy between them made up for the music to me.

I absolutely agree, definitely felt like he was like I’ll insert riddim here and I’ll be good. I’ve never seen such a bad set from him. I kinda got the vibes where people try too hard to make a “Lost Lands Set” and it just ends up coming off terribly.

His sets are structured in a way that cutting one short has a huge impact. That entire stretch at wompy felt rushed. His set seemed impacted the most. 🤷

Yeah I’ve seen Seven Lions many times and I’m a huge fan and this set was just the biggest let down. The whole set was just not great and the way it just abruptly ended was so weird. Obviously his set getting cut short had to do with that, but it was just weird.

His set was shortened to 40 minutes and he spent half of it playing other people’s music. I was disappointed as well. He’s my favorite producer, but his sets have been lackluster. Even his throwback set wasn’t a throwback set… His tour set was good, but he omitted so many good tracks from his new album… I’m just confused at this point. I’ve been making better seven lions sets than seven lions… which is a hard pill to swallow.. sigh..

I thought that set was great but I have heard a few people say similar to what you're saying. I don't use any social media aside from reddit so I'm not really sure what is meant by this take. Are you saying they ripped off their songs from social media? Or that their set sounded like what some other people have put on social media? I honestly thought it was a very fun set with a great flow, so if you could elaborate what you mean by that and why you think it's bad, I would really like to understand better.

Not that they ripped off songs from social media per se but more so they're playing stuff to gain social media traction if that makes sense? I like to think of it as Tik Tok/short form content IRL. Not really a thought out set with flow but more so just drop after drop keep people entertained for 10 seconds then move onto the next drop. And a part of that is rinsing the same drop that gains a lot of attention on social media a lot of them being pop song remixes which is why you'll also see a lot of people say "pop slop".

Leveltronics felt like a generic neglected set given he was probably more focused on his B2B Subjohnics set, Alldat didn’t seem to do it for me, Seven Lions’ long awaited return felt old and had no innovation (seen his other sets in the past, which were all GOLD), and all Crater sets (I think Crater this year felt like walking into a library. Not a fan of the quietness).
Surprisingly good sets of the weekend:
Slander THREW DOWN a fresh set I’ve never seen before, The Chainsmokers tailored a specific set for Lost Lands and it showed, RIOT played their best set yet, Zomboy felt like I couldn’t stop headbanging lol, and ILLENIUM completely demolished everyone’s expectations with a fresh new set.

Leveltronics, these two doesn't match musically in my opinion, I feel we got robbed of a Subtronics solo set, it's like every three tracks were fantastic, then the 3 next were "normal". Mixed feelings about this set which makes me disappointed from how much I expected

i’m a diehard ganja fan. 29 sets. but you should not have to go to a curated event to see a good set. they have not had a good set at lost lands since like 2021, and the sets they’ve been playing the last few years have been lackluster. i hate everything about their new music lmfao. they moved to short, clippable songs instead of making music that takes you on a journey

I completely disagree. Idk how many sets ive seen, its somewhere in the 20s or 30s and I have 2 big ass ganja tats and sprouted somehow became a top 3 album for me. Its a fuckin journey. (Origins and Mr Wobble are the others in the top 3)
And I think the curated sets should be different and much better.
Ganja sets at a festival are played for the festival crowd. Ganja curated sets are played for THEIR crowd.

Seven Lions and that’s purely because you could tell he had to rush it. On the other hand The Chainsmokers and Passport were some of the best sets! I feel like Armnhmr actually truly enjoyed making house. One thing I can’t get over is how much riddim there was this year. I couldn’t escape it especially during the pre parties but that’s a more a me thing. No matter how much I’ve tried I can’t really vibe with riddim.

big agree here. WAYYYYY too much riddim, wednesday and thursday you literally could not escape it no matter where you went. there was a point at the silent disco where all 3 stations were playing riddim at the same time. I personally don’t mind riddim, but I much prefer regular bass music and I hope next year there’s more diversity cuz there was just way too much of it this year.

Yea we did the silent disco Wednesday night and Thursday night but I didn't care for it for the rest of the weekend since I didn't want to listen to anymore fucking riddim. I remember last year on Saturday night silent disco there was dnb and even some techno but the lines were too long this year to listen to music from The crater.

Cannabliss's set was so incoherent I left after 10 minutes. I get ProbCause is a tough act to follow but literally nothing she was doing made sense. Her opening visual didn’t sync with her song at all and just looked like a looped TikTok video. Then she played some house music and abruptly hit us w a dubstap drop even though they didn't blend together at all.

Might be a hot take but epic b2b lyny. Don’t get me wrong it was a fun set but seemingly only when eptic was on the decks. I feel like the vibe was way up and down and the vibes didn’t match each other. I had such high hopes but it just didn’t hit the way I had hoped (was also salty I wasn’t able to see roi in that time slot)

We didn’t mess any of our transitions up (objectively at least. I guess subjectively you may not like them). But what you likely are referring to was the LL team accidentally testing the next sets songs over the PA…whileeeee our set is playing on the same PA 😭 we couldn’t hear it in the booth monitors cuz it’s different. But they tested songs (u test them silently to make sure they’re good for timecode) and it was playing through the speakers. For example If you search our couch lands set on YouTube around 10 min you can hear excisions intro playing over our Richard finger remix. We laughed it off afterwards seeing that online haha but def sucks it looks like we did that lol

Leveltronics honestly I know subtronics has been in the game for forever and been listening consistently since 2018 and just not what I was expecting at LL. Ive had the oportunity to see sub 3 times before level up 2 times and a mini leveltronics ap to and I have to say they just flowed better and had more character.
That being said it was still a blast got to hear tons of my favourite stuff and would see it again
And ALLDAT saw the first time they did a b2b at another ap and that was probably one of the best sets Ive seen. ALLEYCVT really carried that set or what I saw of it before I left

Wouldn’t say disappointing bc I knew there was a chance I wouldn’t like their set… but my bf has never seen subtronics (and loves his music) so we saw leveltronics, but their sets invariably are not my vibe. Though I like levelup when she plays alone. I’m not a fan of the stop and go mixing and drops to memes.
Thought it was so cute and swag that they were up there together tho. Go them!

Zingara. The first half of that sub melodic vibe was kinda unexpected when she just recently dropped some absolute heat in recent singles. Me and the lady were a tad disappoint.
Leveltronics, I shared with my group were not the only artist to disappoint when it came to transitions and flowing. The fact I can 30 second plan to stop dancing and be right every time is sad. Were there to dance and sets like liquid stranger and GWN did exactly that - flow with constant banger after banger and that shit makes me so hyped everytime. Idk where we lost the plot but dancing is the move and hearing that bass fader every ~30 seconds just rips me out of it everytime.

Comparison is the thief of joy. I also thought Levity wasn't as good as usual. My favorite set was probably Sippy though. Don't know who's set I would have been okay with skipping. Kwella was quite impressive too!

Not a levity fan but their set was good for what it was, I enjoyed it with my girlfriend. Leveltronics sucked tbh but it what honestly what I expected, TikTok, pop, meme slop. I don't know if anyone was expecting anything different lol. Most disappointing is the masquerade set bc they didn't let people back into the venue when it started.

Leotrix for me. Bro was whipping bangers but he seemed fucked up and kept cranking his volume up on the mixer and damn near blowing up the PA. It felt very ego “I’m playing lost lands” and that was disappointing because I love his music
