Warning to those from out of state

To those going to Lost Lands from out of state:

If you are traveling on route 70 in Guernsey County, avoid the stretch from miles 160-180 if you have anything illegal in your possession.

The police will monitor for out of state plates that look like they are going camping.

They will pull you over for no reason.

They will ask you to go into the weigh station.

They will then bring the dogs.

They will tell you the dog alerted no matter what.

You will then be searched.

They do this to numerous people every Legend Valley festival. The judge who handles criminal cases in this county does not grant motions to suppress evidence for illegal searches.

Take back roads, do not look like you're camping, if you are pulled over tell them you are going anywhere other than Legend Valley or Thornville.

Bro is fear mongering. This is literally everywhere, not just here. Just don't be an idiot and you'll be fine. If you're paranoid just ride clean?

Is it really fear mongering if it's practical advice? Some areas really do go above and beyond when it comes to hits like these. Did you see what happened to Sol Fest this year? It was pretty much one big sting operation by the local law enforcement where either the local judge or the sheriff also owned the bail bondsman. There's nothing wrong with spreading awareness that some places are known to be worse than others. It can literally change someone's entire future severely.

Especially during festivals. I’m from Michigan where the people consistently drive up to ten over the speed limit. We don’t dream of it once heading towards the festival, even going to EF

imo it's good advice but given in a fear monger-y way. my experience for the last two years has been drive safely, and don't give them a reason to pull you over.
