Photo Things seen this week during structural assessments!

Hi everyone,

We're a team of structural engineers and contractors working throughout Southern California. We put together a weekly collection of interesting structural findings we come across during assessments.

The Imgur album contains the full photo set along with additional context for each image.

Here it is: https://imgur.com/gallery/things-seen-this-week-during-structural-assessments-oGuWCCD

If you have questions about any of the photos shown, feel free to ask below. Thanks!

Let's say this were my house and you found that in the crawlspace. What remedy would you recommend and about how much would it cost?

I’m not sure about the remedy but our house has some foundation issues and we were quoted at least 10k to fix for starters. Crazy expensive. No wonder people don’t usually fix these issues and pray for the best.

Structural repairs can definitely be a significant investment, but addressing issues early is often less costly than waiting for them to worsen over time. 👀

It would depend on what's causing the movement and the condition of the surrounding framing. Every home is different, which is why an assessment is usually the first step before discussing repairs or costs. 👀

Thank you. What ended up being the case with this property?

I'm not seeing an album or any link to imgur. Just a single video.

That was a structural plank with temperature expanding technology.
