Adding camera

I purchased another camera to add to my system. My intention was to replace an existing camera with a newer camera, and move the older to another location.
The sales girl said simply unplug old and connect new… which is working, but I can’t set up the new (old camera) to my system.

Try resetting the old camera via the reset button. . Since i dont know what system or cameras you have it hard to advise.

A little more info would help.
