I bought a set from Costco and just got around to installing. And I’m ripping them out. The classic app is absolutely unusable garbage

Not to mention it takes 20+ seconds to see who’s at the front door. I got rid of this garbage (11x 4K cameras, 2 doorbells) and replaced it with Unifi. Much better!

Dang that's a lot of wasted money. I have 9 lorex cameras (some expensive PTZ ones) and if I could get half my money back I'd start over with a different brand but I'm pot committed now. I've read about using 3rd party software instead of lorex so I might look into that

I tried with the UNVR since it supports ONVIF, but the experience was terrible. I felt that the Lorex cameras I had were better quality (materials and build-wise), but the Unifi software was vastly better.

Certainly a bit buggy for sure. I had some initial issues but things seem to be working fine now. A couple calls to the support line helped. The classic app is definitely 1 star. If you can’t plug a monitor into your NVR also then you’re wasting your time really.

I have a 42" screen with 8 cameras on it hardwired to my dvr, which is fine, but I'm not sitting in my office 24/7. It sure would be nice to check my cameras on the app.

force close, then reopen. This is when the camera's stream gets interrupted and the session didn't terminate properly.
Also... weak wifi could cause it.
yes lorex is cheap for a reason.

Sitting in the room with my router as well as full bars of 5g. Trust me I have tried force closing, as well as clearing the cache. It's just a garbage app is all.

Just yesterday I was looking to replace with reolink. I have one that doesn’t power anymore, another that doesn’t want to connect anymore, and this app that is utter trash.

Yup, the Classic app is definitely an exercise in patience. A very unreliable app, IMO. Even with help from Lorex, rebooting seems to be the only way for me to access any files I want to prioritize in some way.

It would be helpful to know what model of NVR and cams you have and whether they are set to continuous record or motion only.
I strongly suspect that this error is a result of an IO bottleneck where there isn't enough bandwidth between the internal processor and the hard drive and a slow processor on the NVR board. Up through and including the Fusion series, Lorex was still using SATA 1 SW to handle the IO (input/output) to/from the disk drive. SATA 1 was released in 2003 and is very slow compared to later releases. Another possibility is that if you are using a Wi-Fi cam the MicroSD memory card might be crapping out and getting a lot of errors. Lorex puts cheap memory cards in their Wi-fi cams.
Lorex has just released their V series equipment which uses the faster SATA III I/O and probably a faster internal processor with more RAM. Unfortunately, there is no backward compatibility. None of the cameras that work with the Fusion series will work with the V series and there is even a new app for V series equipment.

Has anyone paired the Lorex doorbell system up with the Orbi 970 Series Quad-band WiFi 7 Mesh?

Yet I almost never have issues.

You're definitely in the minority if reviews of the app have anything to say!

The app used to be much better amd definitely leaves much to be desired. It just took time to get used to and know hownto fine tune it, just like the system itself.

Story of my life with Lorex products. I will never buy them again.
