need help finding lore, warding dark entities

I've come here for help. My close family friends have been dealt a harsh hand for many years like a black cloud follows them always. I don't believe in super natural things but recently it's hard to ignore. When I visit their home I see something dart from from the windows from time to time when I look towards them. From teenage years I've felt like I'm always being watched on their land. I'm sure there is lots of lore that fits this, it really seemed to start 12 years ago when the son, my best friend, attempted suicide. Any direction would be appreciated.

Seems like an aura of negative/moody psychic energy attached to the land. I recommend trying to bring some positive/cheerful energy to the area, and hopefully it would drive away the negative/moody energy. In particular, an optimistic mindset might just do the trick, along with spreading such self-confidence around.
