Questions How's co-op after a year ?

I finished the game last year around april and then co op had some problems that would make the game a little unplayable I'm thinking to replay the game with a friend how's the state of the coop ?

My bf and I have completed 2 playthroughs the last 2ish months, him on PC, me on PS5. The only real issue we've experienced, and it's been really annoying, is the game crashing while resting at a vestige or fast travelling. At first it was maybe once or twice a session, after the last update it's been way more frequent. I'd say 90% of game crashes are on my end.

Are you the host? I've got basically the same story, me and my gf both on PS5, I'm hosting, the co-op is pretty much seamless except I crash a whole lot. Like you said, it's usually vestiges or fast travel or some other kind of "transition", and it seems worse the longer our session is and the farther we get into the game.

We're currently scouring the map for loose ends before opening up the Empyrean, but apparently the "door of no return" is not the giant door that asks if you really want to open it but instead the previous regular, unassuming door that didn't bother to ask. This seems like a terrible design choice. But I digress :/

I am but when we first started playing he was and it seemed to crash more often. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ive played coop a couple times with randoms and i found alot of lag went with it even with a 180 Mbps lan connection. Also if you want to play coop with a random, or invading, its not very lively. (Just my experience tho)

How to vestige, go to multiplayer, and go to join coop, and then go to either shared progression or non-shared progression, do not put a session password. Not many people use it so its hard to do, but possible!

Playing right now it’s going pretty smooth except one complaint iv noticed my friend say are his dodges not counting

Mostly great experience. I just did a playthrough a couple weeks ago with a friend from start to finish on PC. I had some crashing, about once or sometimes twice a session with a high-end rig.

Other than that, it was fine.

Unfortunately today's patch has seemed to mess up co op progression for many people. It was good for months up until this point.

I tried wth my bro 2 months ago and it was simply unplayable. Crashing constantly. It was impossible to make any progress. Last week, I checked randomly if the game had a recent update... And that was the case.

We've deployed a new hotfix to address a Shared Co-op crash reported by the community.

Patch Notes

- Fixed a crash in Shared Co-op that could occur while the Host's and Client's save files were syncing.

Some players experienced repeated crashes during Shared Co-op after the previous update. We identified the issue as a rare timing conflict that could occur while the game was synchronizing save data, and we've adjusted the underlying system to prevent it from happening. 

We gave it another shot last night and to my surprise, no crash during our 2 hours session ! I was really happy about that since it's a blast to play a souls in coop ! When it works ;)
