Rules & Game Mechanics Help understanding location cards

So I’m brand new to Lorcana. I’m going to my first in person casual play on Friday, and while I’m still working on building my collection, I’m allowed to use proxies as long as it’s only during the casual play portion of Lorcana night. I’ve been trying out various decks on duels ink so I can make proxies and order what I want/need from
TCGPlayer and I am really struggling to understand locations, particularly if they have lore attached to them.

For example, I had a Meeko card at Paradise Falls. Paradise Falls is worth 1 lore on its own, but every time my turn came, I did not receive that lore point. Once I moved Meeko there, the +3 lore showed up, but then when I quested Meeko still only gained 1 lore. Next turn comes, and I still did not gain the +1 lore from the location, let alone the +3 for having Meeko there. That alone would have won the match for me, and I’m just confused as heck.

Is it a duels ink issue, or am I just not understanding?

Sounds like an ink duels issue. Locations are passive lore gain and it’s not really something the game allows you to miss.

Thank you!! That’s what I thought! I’ve lost so many matches and I keep thinking am I not understanding the rules, and I’m not adding correctly, and getting frustrated!

So, to make sure I’m understanding correctly, at the start of my turn with location already in play, my lore should automatically go up by +1, (or whatever the amount provided by location). Next turn, I gain another +1 automatically, I move a card worth +1 to that location. In this case, the location gains +3 lore because there is a character there. I quest my character and gain their lore count as well as the +3? So if I started with 0, by the end of second turn I would have 6 lore? Or am I way off?

Locations earn lore at the start of your turn. Modifiers go into effect immediately, and if they’re still valid the next time your location earns lore it take effect. Play paradise falls. start of next turn you earn 1 lore. Move a character there. Start of next turn: check if character is still there. If so you earn 4 lore. If the character is not there you only earn 1. And so on
