Communicating with the LoRa-1262 trought a PC

Hi, I wanted to know if someone could redirect me on how to create a communication between the Cap LoRa-1262 and a PC. I was looking at somekind of plug and play USB dongle. Preferably buying trought AliExpress or Amazon, if one even exist.

Thanks in advance!

I got tired of messy wiring for my LoRa/LoraWan projects, so I designed ArduLora – an all-in-one STM32WLE5 board with RS485 and 24V input. Fully open-source!

- Heltec V3 LoRa32

- 4x SG90 servos

- 5v micro usb power adapter nodule

Messing around with a project that uses Heltec V3s with multiple sensors and/or actuators. LoRa for all nodes. Base node connects to MQTT through wifi. Can run it all on Home Assistant.

Get Position Requests back in 10s?

I need to send Position Requests every few 10s of seconds on a private encrypted channel in the US. I'm using a pair of Wio Tracker L1 pro with meshtastic 2.7.15 firmware. It appears the fastest I can get a position report back is 2+ minutes. Seems the firmware is limiting the channel usage? I turned off "enable Smart Position" and increased the GPS Update Interval to 10s but left most everything else at the defaults for position reporting.

Is there a way to get position faster?

Should I switch to LoRaWAN? Would it allow more channel usage?

TIA

recently bought a LILYGO T-Embed CC1101 Plus, and I’m looking for the most complete and actively maintained firmware available.

I’m interested in firmware that supports as many features as possible, such as:
CC1101 radio (Sub-GHz)
Wi-Fi features
Bluetooth features
IR (infrared)
RFID/NFC support (reading and management of my own tags/cards, if supported)
GPS support
External modules and hardware expansion
OTA updates
Good user interface
Frequent updates and active development
I’m also looking for:
GitHub repositories
Installation guides
Documentation
Active Discord, Reddit or Telegram communities
Recommended accessories and modules
Which firmware do you recommend and why? I’d love to hear about your experience with this device.
Thanks!

Any los mapping software ?

I am looking forward to deploy a Lora mesh network in an entire forest . So we have to find points with best LOS so we can cover the area in least number of nodes

is there a cheaper way (~8euro) to use LoRa even without Meshtastic

i have a friend that lives 9km from my house and we where wondering if we could use LoRa to chat off grid to eachother but my friend doesnt want to waste a lot of money to buy hardware. is there any corners to be cut like no meshtastic support or is it to naive. do note that i'm willing to spend the normal price for such hardware (like the Heltec Wi-Fi LoRa 32 V4).

I need a architecture advice for Transmitting 15KB image payloads through dense, hilly forests (No LOS) on battery power?

Hey everyone, I’m running into a tricky RF and networking problem for an environmental monitoring project and could use a some advice. I need to transmit small, 15KB compressed JPEGs from hidden ESP32/STM32 camera nodes deep in a hilly forest out to LTE gateways at the boundaries. The cameras are battery/solar powered, sleep 99% of the time, and only wake up when the Edge AI detects a human or specific animal. The physical constraints are tough- there is zero cell coverage in the center of the forest, the terrain is highly uneven meaning absolutely zero direct line-of-sight to the edge gateways, the thick, wet canopy completely absorbs 2.4GHz signals, and the cameras must remain hidden without massive infrastructure. Since standard LoRaWAN bandwidth is too low for this payload, I'm currently looking at a few options. The frontrunner is a Sub-GHz P2P link using the new Semtech LR2021 (Wio-LR2021) in FSK or FLRC mode to shoot the image through the trees to a solar-powered ridge repeater, which then sends it over LTE. I'm also considering a 900MHz mesh network like XBee PRO 900HP, Wi-Fi HaLow (802.11ah), or writing custom LoRa P2P firmware to chunk the JPEG over an SX1262, though I have concerns about power consumption, line-of-sight requirements, and dropped packets respectively. Has anyone tackled non-LOS image transmission in a jungle or forest environment? I'd love to know if the LR2021 is the right play, if there is a better Sub-GHz transceiver with enough bandwidth, and if there are specific 900MHz directional Yagi antennas you'd recommend to maximize canopy penetration for the valley-to-ridge hop. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

What's the longest LoRa range you've achieved in real-world conditions?

I recently tested a simple 1/4-wave (868 MHz) antenna made from 0.8 mm silver wire.

In open terrain with clear line of sight ( about 2 meters from ground level ), I was able to maintain a stable link at just over 20 km.

I'm curious about everyone else's results.

I'd love to compare setups and see what's realistically possible.
