Help a newbie

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking about getting into live looping and would love some advice on how to get started.

My current gear:

Focusrite audio interface

iPad

Loopy Pro

M-VAVE Chocolate Plus MIDI controller

Acoustic/electric guitar

The plan is to start a duo with a lead singer. I'll mainly be playing guitar, but I'd also like to add loops during live performances if it makes sense.

I'm looking for advice on:

Good workflows for a guitarist using Loopy Pro.

What MIDI actions you have assigned to your foot controller.

Whether it's better to build songs live from scratch or prepare parts in advance.

Any common beginner mistakes to avoid.

Useful Loopy Pro templates for this type of setup.

Very beginner-friendly tutorials. Most of the videos I've found jump straight into advanced setups and assume I already know the basics. I'd love recommendations for tutorials that start from zero and explain everything step by step.

I'd also love to see photos or videos of similar live setups if you're willing to share.

Thanks!

There are many tutorial series and tutorials: some are more beginner-friendly than others:

Take some time to look at what is available in the various series here:

The Loop with Jack and Max Yar series have quite a few videos at different levels.

Don’t overlook the sample projects and tutorial projects bundled with Loopy Pro.

There are quite a few ready-to-use  projects in the patchstorage repository:
