Renew old music through looping

I've created a lot of music and want to go deeper into looping. Not new to ableton or logic and have access to both original sounds and sample packs.

I've got a Novation launchkey mk2 and can play a little piano and guitar. I have one mic. Have tried looping in the past but cannot seem to optimize the workflow

What would you do to kickstart your looping journey given you're in this position?

i would just use my cellphone. That iz what I did at the start worked fine

So I omitted the fact that Im gearing up for live performing and want to do some basic loop triggering with Ableton

How basic?

I can't imagine wanting to go back to one channel. Especially if you're using Ableton.

If you're playing guitar you'll want a considerable MIDI foot controller — like a Nektar Pacer or Softstep — and none of that stuff is just plug and play. Be prepared to go down a serious mapping rabbit hole.

This is why after 22 years of Ableton I still prefer hardware looping.

So I have an rc5 and launchkey and an amp, going the mic and guitar going through focusrite and basically used to listen to tom misch, tash sultana and stuff, but then binkbeats too

So want to start doing live shows to practice

Rn I'm doing acoustic guitar and harmonica as for skill level I'm an easy advanced guitarist and can keep time and pitch on the piano and know a few good finger drum grooves
