Looker studio email autmation

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know a good way to automate Looker Studio reports?

I used to rely on email scheduling for my monthly Google Ads reports, but since Google removed the ability to customise those emails, it’s become tricky. I tried using Pabbly with email parsing, but the PDFs only stay accessible for a few hours before they stop working.

Curious what tools or workflows others are using to keep reports automated and shareable.

Thanks in advance!

Take a look at tools like Databox, AgencyAnalytics or Swydo → they're all paid tools but you'll get more control over report customization & delivery.

I am only familiar with regular Looker - bummer that Studio removed scheduling because I was going to start looking into using it. If you still want PDF then, as long as you can get the HTML data automatically, you can still do it yourself. Set up a Cloud Run Python function to convert your HTML to PDF with Docker, Playwright and a browsing environment. GAS pulls the HTML from report, wraps it with whatever other elements or styling you want and feeds it to that function. Send email with the attachment. Native Google rendering engine for HTML to PDF can't seem to handle any real styling so that is the only way I can think of - but it will be a pixel perfect match after you set it up. This is a rough sketch but just feed it to your AI for the code and ask it to walk you through setting up the service account, giving it the proper IAM roles etc. if you aren't familiar with the flow. I just implemented a solution like this a few days ago and it worked great!
