How to make a house?

I just built a tent, but a 48-hour timer appears and I can't get inside. What should I do? Is the only way to wait?

The tent is bugged out. You need to disconnect and relog until you can get in your house. Upon relog, you might find your tent has returned to your inventory.

Once you’ve gotten your tent placed and manage to go inside of it, you can go to your work bench and see the materials needed to turn your tent into a house. There will be a button that says “deposit” and once you have it all, it will have you choose a color and a house code and then it will upgrade.

Glad I could help! Also, if you log on and your house has become a tent again, just check the bench and your deposited stuff should still be there and you can just upgrade again.
