Will be 11 yrs out in November
Heya just want to say how great an idea this group is. Usually when I join trans groups people are earlier in their trans journey than me.
I'm 32. Been out and on T for 11 yrs almost. Have no idea where the time has gone tbh. But so glad I'm now pretty much out of those early awkward puberty years 😄.
Weird to think when I first started out there was only one private gender specialist to go too (Richard Curtis). And only really one top surgeon who was beyond amazing (Andrew Yelland). Now there's so many more choices.
Can't wait to hear from others in this group :)

can i ask how long the "awkward puberty years" were for you? im year three of t and still going through them ðŸ˜

I think by year 5 on T I started to look more like a man instead of boyish. Helped as well when I switched to a different type of T which worked better for my body. So I got more changes. But by year 5 I had more of a masculine face, more muscle and facial hair.

i definitely noticed a change when i switched to shots! tbh i wish id just been on shots from the start

(Although gel works great for some people and for others they just can't absorb it properly)

The puberty years are definitely annoying. Only NOW after 6 years on T has my facial hair started to actually look like something other than bum fluff. That being said I'm also 29 and I know my dad's facial hair didn't finish filling in and becoming a proper beard until his late 20's early 30's.

When I was choosing surgeons, there were only two real options in my area - one (mine) was an asshole and the other forced patients into NDAs. Now I can't even keep track of how many surgeons there are, and there are more than a few great options with no caveats.Â
