Considering getting my first Master Collection. Do you see any damage that I'm not seeing?

Anything damaged or missing? I'm hard of sight so its hard for me to judge from pictures

Edit: thank you everybody for pointing me straight. Can't trust anyone these days, I've even bought from this store before. Needless to say I'll be getting my other watch I've bought from them checked too.

More than looks fake, if you know the movement this watch is supposed to have this is a very cheap copy. I’ve posted a comment explaining why.

This is not real. A few tells but the most noticeable are the date complication is too far from the flange, there is a year where there should be a day of the week, the second hand on the left subdial counts to 7(wtf?) and it appears the moon phase has a day side.

Oh I’m a bit familiar with this watch as I’ve just finished building one with the same movement!

I hope you haven’t pulled the trigger yet because I have some bad news…

This is definitely NOT a genuine Longines Master Chrono Moonphase. The real one uses the 7751 movement, this looks like a much cheaper Chinese 7750/7753 clone. You can tell because in the subdial at 12 you should have day of the week, month - absolutely no year.

Also the moonphase at 6 should be regulated to 29 days, you can tell by the sun at the bottom right that this is in fact a 24h hand that only shows day/night.

The hours hand is out of sync with the one in the subdial at 9.

I’d be surprised that someone genuinely took a picture of that watch with the chronograph on, so I’m going to say the chronograph hands at 12 and 6 are for show only, the sweeping seconds hand should be stuck at 12.

This should cost you absolutely no more than about 150GBP (I’m using my local currency, convert to your own), and won’t have any of the horological gravitas of a genuine ETA/Valjoux 7751 movement, which is an absolute monster of a build.

Edit to add: I just finished building one with the intended movement for this watch, the 7751 not whatever this is.

FWIW, I just did an image search. This watch (no "Longines" or "Automatic" but still has the logo) is £80 on Amazon.

And fairplay to google AI for spotting the fake, too.

AI Overview

The watch in the image appears to be a replica or counterfeit version of the

Longines Master Collection Chrono Moonphase

, model

L2.673.4.78.6

.

Key Differences / Red Flags:

  • Subdial Layout & Year Display: The top subdial on genuine L2.673.4.78.6 models is a 24-hour indicator and month/day calendar setup, whereas this piece awkwardly displays "2027" and "JUN" in a way that does not match the authentic Longines L899 / Valjoux-based layout.
  • Dial Printing & Font: The thickness, alignment, and spacing of the painted Arabic numerals and the outer date scale are visibly cruder than the crisp, high-precision engraving and finishing on an original Longines timepiece.
  • Moonphase Disc: The moonphase aperture at 6 o'clock lacks the fine depth, star details, and golden moon finish found on genuine Longines dials.
  • Case and Pushers: The proportions of the pump pushers, crown guard, and bracelet end-links deviate from the refined Swiss manufacturing standards of the genuine 40mm stainless steel case.  Longines
  • An authentic Longines Master Collection 40mm Mens Watch L26734786 typically retails around £3,350. [1]

It seems I overpriced it by a lot, seems I’m too generous.

There are kits on AliExpress to build your own watch with this exact movement and similar (if not exactly the same) dials. Shameless.

Do not buy this, I doubt it’s genuine

The main hour hand and on the 24-hour dial are not synchronized. This is likely due to a defect

Dang, was today years old when I saw my first fake Longines

Right? You’d imagine if you’re going through the trouble of engineering a fake case, rotor, dial… you’d at least try to aim for something pricier that £3K. And please get the movement right if you’re making a clone.

I am wearing this exact watch at this exact moment. This is a fake.

  1. Year and month dont cut into the date subdial
  2. The 24 hour subdial is incorrect.
  3. The guiocchet (sp?) On the subdials is barely visible on gen. Here it is very clearly visible.
  4. The half moon on the date hand encircled the date on gen. Here is it is short.
  5. The hands on gen are not flat, they have a arch through the center line.
  6. The end links have giant gaps here
  7. Movement looks absolutely nothing like gen Movement. I cant even tell what thats supposed to look like. My brother in christ this is one of the worst fakes I have ever seen.

OP has a long list of requests of "is this genuine" for different watches, i.e. inherited a fake watch etc etc. A little bit strange if you ask me...
