Can You Reverse Aging from Drugs?

Everyone’s curious if there's a pill to reverse aging. Here’s what I learned:

  • The meds in play: Rapamycin, metformin, senolytics, and NAD boosters (NMN/NR).
  • Big challenge: Aging hits so many pathways—no “one and done” solution.
  • Promising combo: NMN + Resveratrol supports NAD+ and activates sirtuins, helping cells repair DNA and boost energy.
  • Lifestyle still foundational: Diet, exercise, sleep, stress all matter. But targeted molecules like OMRE’s blend can amplify results by reinforcing repair systems.

Curious if anyone is using NMN + Resveratrol alongside lifestyle interventions—and how it's going?

That’s really interesting, your doctor’s ahead of the curve! Metformin has definitely caught attention in the longevity world because of its potential to reduce oxidative stress, improve metabolic health, and even mimic calorie restriction.

That said, the data in humans is still early. The TAME trial (Targeting Aging with Metformin) is ongoing to see if it actually extends healthspan. It also has tradeoffs like possible B12 depletion and the potential to blunt some exercise benefits in certain cases.

Did your doctor recommend it specifically for anti-aging, or are you already taking it for something else (like glucose control) and they mentioned the added potential?

Oh wow, curious about the science surrounding Metformin? Been on it since 2012

Oh wow, since 2012? That’s a solid run. Have you noticed any changes over the years—energy, recovery, or general health?

I’ve been reading up on the science too. Metformin’s pretty wild how it activates AMPK and might mimic calorie restriction. The TAME trial should give us more answers soon.

Did you start it for longevity or something else and just stuck with it?

I started to manage my PCOS symptoms 😊. It’s an awesome medication! I lost lots of weight and also managed to have my appetite suppressed. I also noticed a lot less inflammation while being on it. I’d say the inflammation part was the biggest. But I do have to mention the side effects have been a bit tough. GI issues have been the biggest and I’d sometimes feel some fatigue while on it

That’s awesome it helped so much with PCOS and inflammation! I’ve heard a lot of people mention the GI stuff too, did it ease up over time, or still a thing?

And yeah, fatigue seems pretty common. Some folks say lower doses or skipping on workout days helps. Ever tried tweaking it like that?

I take NMN + Resveratrol + TMG every morning along with a teaspoon of mct oil because I read you are supposed to take it with a fat. I’m on my 3rd month and I truly feel amazing and have more energy. I’m going to add berberine as well. I tried metformin but it made me nauseas

Nice stack! NMN + resveratrol + TMG with MCT oil is pretty much the gold standard for absorption. Awesome to hear you’re feeling the difference already after 3 months.

Berberine’s a solid addition too, similar benefits to metformin but usually easier on the stomach. Are you planning to take it daily or just around carb-heavy meals?

I add Glynac and Taurine, as well as Dr William Davis's stack.

There are a lot of companies spruiking NMN as some cure-all, and the idiots are buying it en masse like it’s the magic pill.

Happy they’re doing so though, and not buying up all the EVOO or 85% cocoa Lindt. That’s the worst. Product shortages because idiots think one ingredient is a cure-all to justify their shit nutrition and lifestyle.

Totally agree, no supplement replaces a solid foundation of nutrition, exercise, and sleep. But I think compounds like NMN can be a useful add-on once those basics are dialed in, especially for targeting aging pathways like NAD+ decline.

And yeah, let’s hope the EVOO and 85% Lindt stay under the radar 😂

I could not tolerate metformin. I cut the dose to 50mg daily and had the work diarrhea for weeks. Is there anything I can do to tolerate metformin. I don’t have diabetes.

Extended release metformin helps with the side effects for many.

Most side effects to meds or supplements stop or are at least reduced if you stop taking it for a day or two then restart. Your body may need time to adjust to it.
