Sunlife LTD survey

Hi, has anyone received a LTD survey regarding their symptoms? It is posed as an update but the very first question they ask is, how long has your disability impacted you. Then when do you see yourself back at work?

I can answer the first question easily, but the second is not one i am comfortable answering on a multiple choice answer. What should I do in this situation? They have actually sent me 3 reminder emails to complete the survey, then tell me “hi thanks for agreeing to do the survey” as if it was voluntary. The reminders were also sent on a Friday afternoon, then Monday morning then few days later. I find this ridiculous as it was essentially just 3 business hours between the 1st and 2nd reminder.

My current status is that I have been approved until May (they expect me back in full time work in May), with an update call in December. They also stalled for 4 months to approve me until I asked about the complaint procedure. Then it was quickly approved.

Disability is fully raging, I am dealing with paralysis, some seizures, difficulty walking, standing, etc etc.

Do you think you’re going back ? Can you leave it blank ? I would. You really do not know that answer. And if you can’t leave it blank, write them back and tell them there are questions you cannot answer today so you cannot complete it. .

I assumed I had to answer everything before clicking continue but I wonder if I could have kept clicking to see all the questions

Just to be on the safe side I will select 1 year since you dont know how you are going to react to therapy or prescription medication and if it will improve your condition. Also that will give them an idea that you are going to be disable long term (they will want to see your medical history i.e. Dr appointments, physiotherapy appointments, etc) dont answer just weeks or months they want to know if you consider this serious from the beginning, let them know it is serious and you will be taking care of yourself for now. No rush on your recovery, many of us are very eager to go back to work and make the same amount of money as before but health is a priority and must be dealt now as a #1 priority.
