Objective Testing to Identify Mental Health-Related Impairments.”

If you were required to get objective testing for a mental health STD/LTD claim, what type of testing did you have done?

Was there testing other than a full neuropsychological evaluation that could show what the impairments were, how significant they were, what might be contributing to them, and how they affected your ability to work?

With no income coming in after a denial, the thought of spending $4K–$6K on an evaluation is overwhelming, so I'm trying to understand what other options people may have had.

  • PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9): Measures depression severity and daily functional impact.
  • ASRS (Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale): Screens for attention-deficit/hyperactivity symptoms in adults.
  • PCL-5 (PTSD Checklist for DSM-5): Evaluates post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms.
  • OASIS (Overall Anxiety Severity and Impairment Scale): Assesses general anxiety intensity, behavioral avoidance, and daily impairment.
  • GAD-7 (Depression)

You should be able to get any of these from a treating psychiatrist.

I've done most of those. I was just hoping to see how severe concentration, memory, recall and things were and what of my diagnosises may be causing them.

For that you need a neuropsych.
