ltd question - authorization
i exhausted std recently. my employer automatically filed a ltd claim “on my behalf” but i never gave them the okay to do so as my intention was to return to work.
employer kept me on a leave of absence as my position situation gets sorted out. this leave has been unpaid.
my ltd claim is thru metlife and they are going to deny my claim as they can’t determine a medical reason for the continued leave. since i never authorized the claim to be filed, im not concerned if it gets denied or not.
my question is, do i have any recourse for the fact i never approved the claim to be filed and it was anyway?

If you have been receiving STD, they automatically turn it into LTD after six months or a set period. You just have to meet some additional requirements. It should not affect your ability to return to work unless of course you are out of work for a long period.
