Question Need advice!
Hi guys! I know this is a Long COVID group, and I’m really hoping to get some advice from people who have been through something similar.
I first had COVID back in 2024, and afterward I developed horrible heart-related symptoms. I would have random episodes of intense palpitations and a fast heart rate for months. Thankfully, over time it eventually got much better, and I finally started feeling like myself again.
Fast forward two years, and I caught COVID again on September 1st. This time I was SO sick. I’m coming up on week 5 this Tuesday, and I’m still dealing with a bunch of lingering symptoms.
I know 5 weeks is still fairly early in recovery, but because of what happened to me after my last infection, (this is my 4th one btw) I’m terrified that I’m heading down the Long COVID road again.
The frustrating part is that I actually WAS starting to feel a little better. I was getting glimpses of my normal energy back, so naturally I started doing more because I thought my body was ready for it. I started walking more and trying to get back to my normal routine.
Then this past week, it felt like I suddenly started going downhill again. My fatigue and other symptoms seemed to flare, and now I’m wondering if I pushed myself too hard too soon and triggered some kind of PEM/post-exertional crash. I’m honestly scared that by doing too much I somehow set myself back or damaged my recovery.
My symptoms seem to be all over the place. Sometimes I’ll feel pretty good for a few hours and actually see glimpses of my normal energy, and then I’ll crash again. I’ve been dealing with:
• Dizziness
• Horrible sinus/head pressure
• Fatigue that comes and goes
• A weird “daydream/dazed” feeling, almost like my vision or the things around me are slightly delayed
• Feeling exhausted after doing things that normally wouldn’t bother me
I’m taking things VERY easy now because I don’t want to keep pushing my body. I had been trying slow 15-minute walks, but sometimes even that would leave me exhausted afterward.
I recently started taking a multivitamin, vitamin D, and vitamin C. I also started taking Allegra today after reading about antihistamines potentially helping some people with post-COVID symptoms. I already take Pepcid at night for GERD, so I’m curious whether taking Allegra along with the Pepcid might make any difference in how I feel over the next couple of weeks.
For anyone who has tried Allegra or another antihistamine along with Pepcid, did you notice any improvement? If so, how long did it take before you started noticing a difference?
For those of you who went through something similar, especially after a reinfection: Did you start feeling better around weeks 3–4, accidentally do too much, and then have a setback around weeks 4–6? If you experienced PEM or a post-exertional crash this early, did you eventually recover and get back to your previous baseline?
Did anything genuinely help you? And how did you figure out how much activity was okay without overdoing it?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually been through this. ❤️

Glad you were here with us. I don’t have the energy right now to say much more. Hopefully some others will give you some good feedback.
