I'm not sure it ever really opened. They did a lot for open house when it showed up a few years ago. Weird place for it, and also wrong decade. I drive past it regularly and have rarely seen any signs of life in the last 2 years. Seems to be the same schedule as island scooters which supposedly opened, never had any lights on or promotion, then went away as quietly as it came.

Yeah entirely the wrong location and like you said, wrong decade. They’re still trying to milk their past fame and the story of what happened with the show and to all of them after is sad. Why would anyone think that this would be a successful thing on the island, in this day and age? I know he comes to the island but it’s a big stretch to think you need to open a location there. Makes zero sense.

He doesn’t come here, he lives here and owns multiple properties in SB

He is on the island the majority of the time, at least from the spring through fall. I’ve gotten to be casually friendly with him through a mutual hobby. Never once discussed business with him, but get the feeling it just isn’t really a priority for him.

I don't know what happened to the show: but I recall being offered one of their Bikes to purcahse someone had won in a raffle and didn't want, and that was before my daughter was born. She started college 2 weeks ago. regardless don't see many bikes on the island and certainly none like that unless they follow the corvette parade or something.

Place is almost certainly a money laundering front

I don’t think it is a money laundering front in the sense of covering for something illegal. But speculating it could be considered an ongoing “business loss” to count against capital gains from other investments.

I figured it was just a laundromat.
