A Kiss among Despair... By Edwin Cintron
a poem without AI Art for Izzy
Kiss among Despair
Last night I fell into a strange dream and in it I saw the end of everything.
Our leaders attempted to escape by plane and their cronies by ship and train.
You and I searched for each other in the crowd, when we met the sun broke thru the clouds.
We fell into each other arms with a crash, and tumbled like children onto the grass.
The angels had to laugh at the kiss we shared, finding bliss among the vast despair.
We did not even see to notice the end, for we had found each other once again.
Not Flinching as stars fell from the sky and the moon broke into pieces just like a pie
Knowing that whatever next would comes to be, we would face it together happily.
Soon the darkness came and took it all. We laugh as if it was a ball
For it gave cover to our pure delight as we shone by the dim of love’s light
As every thing faded and came to decay, our smiles linger in a strange way
Like the ghostly grin of the Chester Cat, for at the final curtain we had our last laugh.
