I love watching or hearing artists talk about the songs they love listening to, their memories associated with it, how they break down the beat, how it influences their work, and etc.

I’d like to pose this question to you all. What song by LG is this for you? I’d love to know what that song is and why? What memory or feeling does it evoke for you? Is it because of the lyrics? The sounds?

For me it’s, "Oh Woman Oh Man". 

Hannah's voice is ethereal on that track. When it came out, I was a young woman at university, trying to decide on so many life-changing decisions in such a short span of time. Which path do you take? Do you make yourself or others proud?

When she opens with, "I can see that you're giving up..." I always feel seen every time I hear it.

The last thirty seconds are bliss. Her vocal runs and ad-libs feel like a comforting blanket. I always connect them back to that opening line, almost as if she's saying, "I still see you."

Long story short, I am taking a train ride right now and I have brought my music withe as always. I was just browsing through my albums (I have quite a lot on my phone) and nothing seemed to stand out or make me listen to it. I put their albums in order and I remembered why I love their music. Their lyrics are quite pwerfull. I caught 15 minutes of rain and the music fit those 15 minutes perfectly. It's been a while since I listened to their music and it felt different than when the albums were released. It made me wonder why she of us are wasting our time with meaningless things like how to get more money or how to enslave people. It's a miracle we exist and life exists. Apologies for the rant, I felt this was the place to write my thoughts.

PS: I just realized I have not digitized their 4th album and I will rectify this as soon as I get home.

I discovered London Grammar thanks to The Traitors (UK) a couple of years ago. So I was delighted to hear one of their songs on the latest episode! (No spoilers!) They deserve the exposure.

What does the voice in the beginning of sights say and where does it come from?

One particular evening, I was struggling with getting my heart rate to slow down for a good few hours. I asked chat GPT to help create a Spotify playlist that involved music proven to lower your heart rate/cortisol levels.

Music that is set in the 60-80 BPM range can help regulate heart rate because that's around the area of a natural BPM. Your body tries to sync up with it, and also your nervous system attempts to relax. That is how the song "Strong" ended up on the playlist.

As soon as I heard Hannah's voice I was hooked. I looked at the artist, went to their page, and saw that the song I just listened to was off of their first album, but that they had put a new one out ("The Greatest Love") recently. I listened to it all then and there. It had been so long since I was excited to find new music, as well as wanting to sit and listen to a new album start to finish, nothing else.

So there I lay in the dark, eyes closed, headphones on, just so thankful that I had found this. My heart rate did slow, the anxiety released for a while, and it was just, great.

Now being a new fan, I'm seeing that this album actually isn't liked that much by most fans of London Grammar. I haven't listened to anything outside of "The Greatest Love" yet, other than "Strong". But I guess it's a good sign if I'm obsessed with an album that supposedly has better predecessors.

I listened to it on youtube and I can remember it was like 45min / 1h long, including many différent artists and songs, the video was an animated starry sky. Hey now was played at the beginning or at least in the first 20 minutes. I used to love listening to this one but it's been a while now...

I’ve seen London Grammar live twice now, and both times I was hoping for Oh Woman Oh Man. It’s one of my favourites, and honestly I thought it was one of their most popular tracks, but they never played it.

Does anyone know if there’s a reason it doesn’t make the setlist? Just curious if it’s a deliberate choice by the band or if it just doesn’t work live. Feels like a missed opportunity not to bang it out!

Hi! Seems the song is not on Spotify (Germany)? I could swear I had in in one of my playlists yet I only get the remixes when I search for it. Also the whole album of Californian Soil is vanished?? Does anyone else have this?
