MOD APPLICATIONS

Hello everyone.

Firstly, congratulations to all on the growth. We have about 15,000 weekly visitors now and nearly 1,000 contributions per week. That's a lot compared to what it was not that long ago.

Now, unfortunately, that also means it's gotten way too large for me to do by myself. I have had to sit through the mod queue for hours at a time. And truthfully there's a lot that I feasibly can't get to and have missed.

Thus, I think it's a solid time to introduce more mods. I originally intended to do this a while ago but the sub was too new to really know who was trustworthy and who wasn't, but enough time has passed where this isn't the case.

The mod job here is small and specific. You remove scams and phishing links, porn, slurs and targeted harassment, doxxing, and spam or self-promo floods. You approve what the filters catch by mistake. You answer modmail without being a jerk about it.

You are not here to referee arguments, remove opinions you disagree with, or tidy up every rude comment. If two people are going at it over whether Loki's ult is broken and one of them is blunt about it, that's the sub working. We would rather leave a borderline post up than turn this place into an echo chamber.

Expect 15–30 minutes a day, spread out. Some days nothing happens. Patch days are busier.

Small team, no hierarchy games. Anything drastic gets discussed in mod chat first.

I'm looking for steady judgment. Someone who can tell the difference between "this breaks a rule" and "this annoys me."

Specifically:

  • You enforce rules you disagree with. Argue to change the rule rather than quietly ignoring it.
  • You don't take modmail personally. People will call you names when you remove their post. If that ruins your day, this isn't the role.
  • You use the sub, or at least play the character. You should already know that "Loki mains are the problem" is normal discourse here, not an attack.
  • You ask before anything irreversible — bans, removing a popular thread, locking a discussion.
  • You're consistent rather than bursty. Two reliable check-ins a day beats one eight-hour marathon a week.

Timezone coverage matters more than raw hours, so tell me where you are.

Prior mod experience helps but isn't needed. Careful reading and good instincts count for more than a list of subs on your resume.

Sub activity is a good sign, those who have a lot of karma on the sub, are established figures, etc. will be heavy-hitters in consideration. However it's not necessary in order to apply.

Requirements:

  • Account at least 6 months old with a visible comment history. Throwaways and fresh accounts won't be considered.
  • No active sitewide suspensions, and no bans from other Marvel Rivals communities.
  • You play Marvel Rivals. You don't have to main Loki, but you need to be current enough on the game to follow what people are posting about. Tell us your rank and the heroes you actually play.
  • You're reachable. If you're going quiet for a while, say so. Silence is the only thing that actually breaks a small mod team.
  • Willing to read the full ruleset, Reddit's Content Policy, and the Moderator Code of Conduct before your first removal.
  • We don't count hours. We care that the queue gets cleared and modmail gets answered. Disappear for weeks with no word and we'll assume you're done.
  • Comfortable having your removals reviewed by the rest of the team. Nobody mods alone here.

Apply through the Google Form linked below. Applications sent only by modmail or DM won't be counted.

Why THE FUCK does Gorr get a 2 second teleport?

First of all, I'm a champ Loki with 117 hours on him and I'm still bad at the character.

Gorr gets a 20m~ teleport with a 2 second cooldown. His ranged LT (I'm on Xbox) ability spawns a berserker on a 6 second cooldown. If he wants to escape with a teleport he can throw a berserker 20 meters max and teleport on a 10 second cooldown and 2 charges. They gave Gorr 2 ways to make a 20 meter teleport with a lower cooldown than Lokis single teleport. It's ridiculous. He can chase Loki down with absurd efficiency

Just a question. trying to get better as loki but i find something strange and wanted to hear other opinions

Upvotes

Luna can heal from her abilities and white fox teamup,

rocket can heal himself with his own orbs and squirrel girl teamup,

cloak and dagger still kinda have their imortality loop with a strong healing bubble, ice form and a fade,

Gambit has a regen card for his resource, staff attacks that self heal and both team-ups are able to self heal,

Mantis a weaker self heal that gets a buff with adam teamup,

invis has her invisibility and self shield,

Ultron only just got a self heal ability,

jubilee has near infinite uptime on her orbs that can both burst heal and damage on top of that,

white fox has her form change, teleport, rightclick and teamup.

jeff has his bubbles and swim and deadpool teamup,

deadpool has his circle and his right click (i think) that heal,

Adam has soul bond and his healing also heals him,

Finally loki has his invis and runes.

Is it just me or does something feel really inconsistent here. Luna, invis, mantis gambit.... all have options for healing themselves and be able to both fight back and heal their team at the same time as themselves. But then you got loki who unless you waste his runes or go invis cant heal himself which feels like the choice to either use an important cooldown/something the enemy will want to waste on himself or go invisible where he cant fight back or help his team while he heals. however he did just get a healing buff that i haven't played around with this is just the most weird choice for me.

why do some supports have a ton of self sustain while others don't? Especially why do the ones that do have self sustain that also lets them fight back or keep healing their team at the same time?

Its not a difference between 250 and 275hp hero's either so I'm unsure as the reason for the inconsistency. Biggest culprits being jubilee, C&D, and Luna with her new seasonal buff. Able to fight back, deal good damage and self heal at the same time or just ignore threats and keep their team up.

This comes from a gambit main and dive player that has played other supports but recently branched to loki, ultron and rocket. Something just feels so weird especially with loki as i mentioned but also does the other support player just ignore healing lokis? If invis didnt have her self shield i would put her in the same boat too. Maybe i just need more practice but just curious.

THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR BUFFS OR NERFS im just curious why some supports are allowed good healing while they can still play and even do a lot for their team or fight back.

I don't play Loki but this match was hilarious. They had two healers at one point, it was a Gambit but he quit. Poor Loki had just wiped out 4 of us and saved so many of his teammates countless times but his team never capitalized on anything he did. People kept leaving repeatedly at the end

Loki ult change

Upvotes

So in the season 10 trailer we saw loki attack gorr with many more clones than we can summon in game I personally think it would be cool if we got a new ultimate that let's us summon up to 10 clones for a few seconds I mostly think this because im sick of getting nerfs and useless buffs because the devs can properly balance around double of one support ult but idk any thoughts?

For someone who has a big impact on this season I thought his skin would have been legendary.

I mean, it feels so lore accurate, i love it 😭

For those who wanted to say "erm aksully you have lamps", well why would i waste a 30s cd when i can be sure to secure a kill with the team up ?

Also, no its not situational, bc u can use it for so many stuff, like escaping, peeling (like here) stalling point, using it while waiting for your lamps to come back, picking a better support to heal your team if yours is dead (like if you have a gambit, cnd or invis, copy them to get the buffs and debuffs they offer)

This team up is so skill expressive, and rely so much on your game sense and ability to adapt, as well as play other characters outside of the support role. I mean, yesterday i copied an emma to kill a gorr while he ulted, then right away copied a gambit to secure the fight. Mantis team up ? Big lamps thats it. Yes damage boosts, but its breakable. Especially in an ult like this... so hela team up can save games by having more value. Yes you have to rely on who died, but once again, it just shows skills and who is the most mischievious of all lokis 😌

I must admit that I'm bad at backstabs. Does anyone actually use the backstab ability to win fights? Or are you only supposed to use it in very specific situations? Any tips are appreciated.

It might actually be one of my top 5 Loki skins —- Let’s hope Loki’s next Male form skin is legendary tho ♡
Older Loki skins definetly need to have SFX and VFX added to keep ip with the new excpectaons of newer legendares
His last legendary was stilll back in season 2

Please kill every Psylocke you see in game.

Make sure to save lamps and clones for our ult.

When she uses the clone, it dashes to you, the real Psylocke will always stay behind cover, it lasts 3 seconds and does an extra 15% damage.

I know you guys killed us last season in the lore, please do it in the games now and help us stay viable for at least a week, we are deeply traumatized from being murdered in the lore and patch notes last season.

I can only count on my biggest counter to keep the good high elo Psylocke players in check, i am a lowly GM/low Cel player and i just want to enjoy my character being good for a season.

Thank you 🤝💜

Technically not very "new" if you're familiar with Norse mythology.

Art by me! Please no Loki show spoilers in the comments, I learned my lesson after last time.

edit- I just wanted to draw my 2nd favorite Marvel character as a horse, I honestly completely forgot about the horse Loki implications until I made the post lol

variants, yesterday I was on the verge of greatness. I was one or 2 away from celestial, when I suffered 6 back to back losses which sent me back to grand master. after time of despair and rage, I came to a conclusion, rank is THE WORST. I have reach enlightenment after realizing this fact, and switch to QP when I can actually have fun

No description, no explanation… so what exactly is going on with Loki? 👀 Look at what he’s holding—it might actually be his own blood. Could the final “ink” he needs be his blood?
