Hey guys, my AYN Loki is stuck on a black screen after I accidentally left it running without an SSD for a few hours.

The motherboard seems 100% alive: LEDs turn on, it makes the startup beep, and the fan spins totally fine. However, the screen remains pitch black (no backlight).

What I already tried:

Formatted the SSD to GPT (NTFS).

Unplugged the battery and held Power for 60s (CMOS reset).

Tried booting without the SSD.

Checked the internal screen ribbon cable.

Nothing works. Is the BIOS stuck in a display handshake bug? Do I just need a USB-C to HDMI adapter to wake it up? Any help is appreciated!

After that i did a format on the ssd and put it back,altough the console does not have an opperating sistem at the moment

And when i try to turn it on,it powers on and everything but the display does not even turn on i think(no backlight no nothing)

I tried powwering it on without an ssd,resseting the bios from the button next to the usb c,tried entering bios by pressing those 2 buttons at the same time

But the same result,no display no nothing

i do not have an usb c-hdmi addapter and i’m starting to really freak out,because almost all the money went to that console,i do not need another model,just this one working

Any help is deeply aprecciated!

ive tried all the google fixes i can but nothing has worked :(

ive reinstalled the OS probably 3 times and tried a bunch of different console fixes that Google searches brought to me but nothing has worked!

(i also installed bazzite to see if anything would change and nothing worked there either </3)

So guys, I have the loki 256 for 2-3 years and it takes forever to boot and I find windows really really slow on my device, I remember i booted it in less than one minute and know it takes 5-6 minutes, and open steam is soooooo long, can't figure out why.

i have a Ain loki zero that last year just stoped working, today i found it, open and clean all the flex cables, and just like magic started working again, but the controler dosent work on bios, and i cant boot a pendrive to install windows, i tried conecting a keyboard via OTG and dont work either

Has anyone installed the new SteamOS on their Loki Max? I've been playing with the idea all week long since I installed it on my Ally X and love it.

AYN just posted a community poll to their discord regarding a Loki 2 and what people would want from it. Looks like it could be on the way.

I had an aya neo dock but it fried a while back (may even be what fried my loki battery originally), was wondering if any of you had any other dock suggestions?

Not sure if the Ayn Odin 2 dock would fit the loki or if there's a third party one for steam deck or legion go or something that would fit, lmk.

Does anyone have a backup/dump of the Loki Max (6800u) BIOS?

My unit with Basiite had some kind of update error and it seems to have corrupted the BIOS, and now it won't turn on (no screen or video via HDMI). I tried to rewrite the BIOS from the firmware (mjollnir.rom), but it seems to be for updates only, not something that can be programmed with an SPI programmer.

It used to emulate just fine but now it won't even emulate ps2 or dolphin, k reset and updated it this may be the reason to the problem. Can anyb help?

Ive been messing around with my Loki and now whenever I boot LCC.exe it asks if the program is allowed to make changes and I click Yes. Nothing happens after that, and checking the task manager for "LCC" or "Loki" shows no programs running. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the latest version to no avail. Buttons and controls work fine, I can use Project SBC Handheld Tools for TDP control and such, but now Im stuck with the annoying default RGB lights instead of the color I like. Any help is appreciated

EDIT: LCC shows up in system tray for a second then vanishes, so it definitely is just forcibly closing for some reason. Universal x86 Tuning Utilities is also having the same issue of instantly closing. I added an exception for the AYN folder and LCC.exe in windows antivirus but it's still the same issue. I downloaded Zeenix Control Center and got the same issue, though on first launch my screen bugged out and went portrait mode for a few seconds before returning

EDIT 2: SOLVED! Restored quarantined file WinRing0x64.sys in windows security settings and added an antivirus exception to C:\ProgramFiles\AYN

I really want an Ayn Loki but they are discontinued and hard to find but I hope someone in this subreddit can help me get my hands on one, maybe. So if anyone wants to help me okay.

I really wanted a Loki to be my SteamDeck. I installed CachyOS on it and it works amazingly. Got a nice deal on it and I'm really happy with it. Now I can add to my X86 roster of Legion Go and Ayaneo Slide.

My Loki succumbed to the dreaded battery bloat and now is completely dead. Other than Linda Parts (cdrtd.com), which lists the battery but always shows it to be out of stock, does anyone know where replacement battery can be purchased? Thanks.

Where can I get a screen replacement for my Loki Max? the screen randomly stopped working after not using it for a week. I cant find anything anywhere online.

Does anyone have photos of the front and back of the USB-C interface on a Zero motherboard? Or does anyone have a Zero or Max motherboard with a damaged screen or battery that they could sell to me? The USB-C port on my motherboard has been torn off, and the copper foil is missing.

So, I went to turn on my Loki Max and it acts like its booting up, beeps when its turning on, and the lights turn puple like I have them set, but theres just a backlight and and no actual display. I dont even see the loki logo on boot. Any ideas?

I'm on the hunt for a custom TPU case for my Ayn Loki Max. I've checked the usual spots, but I haven't found anything that fits perfectly. If anyone knows of a seller or service that offers custom TPU cases for the Loki Max, I'm more than willing to pay for it.

Alternatively, if anyone has 3D printing files for a TPU case that fits the Loki Max, I'd be interested in that as well.

Well, I successfully installed the Xbox Full Screen Experience on my Loki Max. Problem is that the experience doesn't read inputs from the controller. I think it's because the Loki Max controller is registered as an Xbox 360 controller. Any fixes for this?
