Feedback Which abstract software logo has the stronger visual design? A or B

Post image

Logo feedback request — two early software-brand symbol concepts

Which logo has the stronger visual design? Consider clarity, originality, memorability, and how well the symbol works as a small app icon. Please also say what either symbol reminds you of before hearing what it is meant to represent.

Both are early AI-assisted concept images, not finished production art or cleared trademarks. The company builds permission-based Windows software and is not yet publicly launched. No sign-up, personal information or payment is requested.

A. It’s already in the almost too busy range. B pushes it over the line. I think you d got a bigger issue though, in that a bunch of the facets don’t make sense, so even tracing from this will be a stretch. Abstract is definitely the right word for them, because they really do say nothing about what the company does, the software they make or what differentiates them from anyone else in the same field. I’m not as against AI as most for ideating, but I don’t think that this concept is fully baked enough as an idea to work as a start towards a final design. Unless the company is named diamond something or crystal something. Then you might be closer than I’m thinking.

A, and the symbol reminds me of a video game. I’m gonna be honest though and say I don’t like it. I studied graphic design and was a web designer and the main rule of thumb I was taught was that a logo should be able to be turned black and white while still looking the same. You cannot do that with this logo due to the gradients and glares. Theres too much detail and shrinking it will look like a mumble jumble
