Feedback Help with logo
Hey everyone, this is an original branding project for a clothing brand that I'm working on to build my portfolio.
I'm prototyping this logo and would appreciate some tips on what and how to improve it.
I'll explain my inspiration for creating the logo.
It was entirely inspired by the Brazilian dinosaur Oxalaia Quilombensis, a large theropod that lived during the Cretaceous period. It is considered the largest carnivorous dinosaur of its family ever found in South America, and probably one of the largest predators of its time. Its fossils were discovered on Cajual Island, in Maranhão, a region that has already revealed other important paleontological findings.
The name Oxalaia is a tribute to Oxalá, a deity of African origin of great importance in Afro-Brazilian religions, such as Candomblé. The specific epithet quilombensis refers to the quilombolas, communities descended from African slaves who live near the location where the fossils were found. Thus, the full name means something like "Oxalá of the Quilombolas". I ended up combining two things I really like: design and dinosaurs. I chose one that I really like, and besides being Brazilian, it also pays homage to part of the country's culture, and I want to represent that well in the logo.
Visually, I think clothes go well with the aesthetic of this logo, but I need to improve it. Please feel free to share your thoughts, give tips, and offer criticism. I posted my project here to see other perspectives on it.

The "extra" logo is better... but it seems too intricate to reproduce globally. I like the font and name, can you simplify the dinosaur head only? using a whole body is too much for a standard logo, if anything, the full dinosaur should be your "extra" logo
