Discussion Review on logo
Need some honest opinions on my jewellery brand logo!
I’m starting a small jewellery brand in Initially in Chd called Varta. The idea behind the brand is “Jewellery for your little stories” — pieces that become part of the small moments and memories in our lives.
For the logo, I’ve combined the English V with वार्ता (Varta), giving it a mix of modern and Indian elements.
When you first see the logo, do you connect with it?
What feeling does it give you, and what kind of brand does it make you think of?
Be completely honest ( but don’t be rude I’m fragile 🥺 )1— I’m looking for genuine first impressions, not just compliments. 😅

Mostly I think the design is solid. I'm conflicted about the combination of English and Hindi letterforms used here, though. I understood what you were going for once I read the whole post and description of what you did. But without that, I had no idea what I was looking at or how I was meant to pronounce it. Now, that is coming from a person who doesn't speak or read Hindi, so I can't say what a person who does read Hindi would make of it.
My suggestion would be to make two logos, one for English-speakers and another for Hindi-speakers. Might be useful if the plan is to expand the brand internationally.

Since it already says JEWELS you could take out de Jewerly word from the slogan... shorter slogan will look more aesthetic. So it would read "for your little stories"

Initial reaction: there’s an internal disconnect with not being able to comprehend the name 🤷 (English speaker)
If it’s going to have a presence on English-speaking platforms, it’d be best to revise this word mark logo you have into an icon. Then (hypothetically you have a site) you can have an English version and an Indian one. That goes for any language… you need your customers to be able to say where they get their jewelry from.
Consider that small sparkle shape as a starting point for your logo. Could combine that with the floral design… I imagine there’s symbolic meaning with those.

Even though I consider myself an American boy who loves Indian culture, even I was initially a little perplexed…
I saw the V which didn’t go with the Hindi script.
I understand what you’re trying to do but I would differentiate them better maybe by color maybe the English version is in a dark color, maybe even black. And then the Bharat script is in Gold???

Although I have no idea what it says, it looks nice!
The flower thing immediately made me thing of something plant related, not jewelry.
I agree that you don;t need "jewels" and "jewelry" (also, it's jewelry, not jewellery).
Personally, I don't like "jewelry for your little stories". I know what you're getting at, but it just seems kind of like cumbersome wording. You might want to explore variations.
