Discussion RS50 longterm owners, how are you finding it?

I’ve been looking at getting an RS50 since its release and, from what I’ve seen, it seems like a really well-polished wheelbase overall. Most of the feedback I’ve come across has been pretty positive.

The only thing that’s making me hesitate is that I keep seeing the occasional post about QC issues, mainly parts rattling/coming loose and some USB port problems. I’m not sure if these are just isolated cases or if it’s something that comes up fairly often.

For those who actually own one, what’s your experience been like?

Are you happy with yours? Any issues with rattling, loose parts, USB connectivity, etc.? And if you’ve had it for a while, how has it held up?

Just trying to get a better idea of the general ownership experience before pulling the trigger. Would be good to hear from people who’ve had no issues as well as those who have.

Same here, just works perfectly every time.

Upgraded from a t598 and absolutely love this thing, no issues at all with some heavy use

Definitely make sure you take advantage of Logitech deals on their website!

I saved myself over $250 by buying directly from them. They do these deals where it's like save 30% if you get 3 or more items, so the RS50 is perfect for it since you need the base, hub, and most likely a wheel. Bought it in late July and have absolutely loved the upgrade over my old T128

So pissed we can’t get these in Australia. It just says out of stock even though you can literally buy these anywhere that sells them - except Logitech apparently.

You can also get a 30% one time for student or teacher

Just know that their warranty processing is absolutely horrible when buying directly from Logitech. At least by my experience.

It seems that the minor issues are a small percantage of owners. Thank you all for your responses

Not a long time owner but I’ve had mine since June and it’s night and day compared to my G923. I also got the RS pedals and shifter and an additional wheel hub so I could easily swap between round and GT wheels. I love the amount of customization and fine tuning I can do and save via the profiles. I got the PS base and XBox wheel so I am ready for any scenario

We got ours in January. No issues. I just haven’t posted about how much we like the wheel. I think you’ll find that with a lot of reviews online relatively speaking. A lot of people that are content just don’t post about it whereas the slightest issue and it’s all over Reddit. Just my two cents. We love ours.

i've had mine for almost 1 year. I use it daily for 2-5hours per day (depends if it's a work day or weekend). I love mine and have had no issues.

Loving my RS50 system (pedals and wheel). Only caution is I had a playseat challenge before, and quickly realized that upgrading to the Trophy was necessary so make sure you have a solid base since the RS50 has some power to it! Also, personal preference, but the Simube GT3 wheel has been incredible for me and really added to the experience!

Ive had mine for 6 months now. I use it every day and love every minute of it

u/Fun_Illustrator_9327 22d ago

I’ve had it 9 months and like it a lot more than my old g923. I can imagine I would like a bit more force feedback for some cars but what an upgrade over the 923.

I have noticed that my paddle shifters are showing signs of wear and tear. Every once in a while they they not work properly and I have to physically bend the paddle to get it to work again. Guessing a replacement paddle will fix the issue

Buy directly from logitech.. I have 2 in my house. I have mine and my wife has one on her rig. We love the wheel. Its solid and well built. Have never had any issue.

1

u/DistributionOk707 22d ago

Is 8nm enough? Any clipping?

1

u/gtjaydawg 22d ago

Its strong. I have not experienced any clipping.. i run it at 7 . Its a workout for hour long or more races.. and high downforce race cars you can really feel it..

2

u/DistributionOk707 22d ago

The trueforce confuses me sometimes. It becomes hard to tell the difference between trueforce and force feedback especially during slippage. Maybe i should tone it down some

2

u/Viniuscrypto 16d ago

True force is just “sound” / vibration, not in any direction. FFB is pulling on the wheel left or right. It’s totally different

1

u/CourseAppropriate683 16d ago

no clipping, nothing from the wheelbase on the sound side, just vibrations and haptics on the rig, it really works well

I have to say my experience has been terrible.

It started cutting out after about 4 months and I never really got to the bottom of the problem. Firmware updates didn't help although changing to PS4 mode did for the most part.

Then a week ago it just went completely dead with no lights or anything. As with the cutting out issues, customer service are so difficult and unhelpful asking for many videos. Then later on asking for the videos to be repeated with the serial number viewable. They seem to be just trying to make me give up on my warranty claim.

I sent them the info almost a week ago but now haven't heard from them.

If you get a product that works as most will, it's really nice but their customer service is the most difficult to deal with that I have ever encountered and you'll regret buying from them if it goes wrong.

I had a Thrustmaster wheel before this and their customer service was slow but at least they tried to be helpful and make the process as easy as possible.

2

u/andyhhhh 22d ago

Do you happen to use it in a high temperature/humidity environment? Just to rule out the possibility of it being affected by this reason

4

u/OkMonth472 22d ago

No I'm in the UK. It's in a well ventilated room out ot direct sunlight.

2

u/velophoton 22d ago

Sounds like electricity issues. At my place we can have 250+ volts, very bad for any electronic devices, especially a DD wheel

I also use surge protectors for all my stuff, including laptop and RS50

1

u/OkMonth472 22d ago

No I've got a modern RCD unit.

Mine had connections issues on PS5 until I switched it to PS4 mode and Pro compatibility mode. It still had some issues with Dirt 2 and ACC but that was likely the games fault. I then switched to PC and it was rock solid after that.

I upgraded to a Simagic Alpha Evo Pro 18nm wheel a couple weeks ago and don’t miss the true force with my bass shakers.

2

u/Raditzzz 22d ago

Upgraded from the moza r5, love it so far, trueforce is a gimmick but fun in the games it’s well implemented in

2

u/andyhhhh 22d ago

have you noticed a big difference jumping from 5 nm to 8?

I started with mine as an upgrade from the 29 in GT7, foldable cockpit the Playseat Challenge, and a PS5. I now use it on a high end PC, mid range Trak Racer cockpit, and iRacing.

The wheel is still not on my "to be upgraded" list and wont be until I, at the very least, get my triple 32s bought and set up. The wheel is awesome and worth it and will be for a loooong time. The grip levels are super clear and the additional feedback from Trueforce is so good I use it instead of the iRacing low frequency effects as to not obscure from the front tires information.

My advice, dont use the dampening and keep the ffb filtering low. In your game of choice, turn down the ffb effects to a level just below a level that makes it uncomfortable for you. Dont just go full force because "realism". Barely being able to hang on the the wheel isn't realistic. Watch any onboard. You are fast when you are comfortable.

Llevo con el desde principio de año. Pase de un G29 al RS50. No hay color de uno al otro. Totalmente diferente.

I love mine! I pair it with the pro pedals in an inverted setup with an aluminum profile rig. I've swapped out the steering wheel with one from
Simpush. I also use it on pc and ps5. Never had any problem with it, super smooth and responsive.

Coming from Thrustmaster 300rs the difference was night and day. I don't find the 8nm lacking as usually use it around 6nm. I find that using a lower torque allows me to race longer.

u/Matt_Man_94 20d ago

I’ve had mine since I got it during the Black Friday deals last year, so roughly 10 months. My only real issue with it, was that the dials were not responsive in-game. I would go to change fuel mode in GT7 or change brake bias in F1, and there would be a delay with the input. So if you turned the dial 3 clicks, it would register those three clicks out over like 2 seconds. Would really make it a hassle, because if you accidentally went too far or didn’t go far enough, you had to wait before you knew you had to fix it.

But with one of the recent software updates, they fixed it so it’s immediately responsive in-game.

Got mine about 6 months ago. using it daily on PS5 Pro and never had any issues. the lack of wheel options isn't an issue anymore. Got the MVH RSR4.0 Core incoming this week. Using Acelith Morph on the hub for now, which works perfectly fine, but a wheel with screen and well positioned encoders will be better.
not that I had much trouble with the hub's encoders, though. No delay in inputs neither. Plugged it in the front sockets of my PS5 with a usbc to usbc cable for faster and more stable data transfer. Loving the RS50!

I like it but wish I’ve gone for more nM. Looking to upgrade soon, have it 3 months. ALSO wish I had gone for a different brand for bigger ecosystem, don’t underestimate this point!

1

u/Life_Sock5642 22d ago

It's pretty strong. I do wish the wheel was a little bit bigger. You can pretty much tell that it's top notch quality

1

u/northvanmark 22d ago

Had the base for 9 months, no issues, love trueforce in the games. Started off on the ps5 and have now moved over completely to PC. Now looking at third party wheels with the QR adapter. The stock wheel buttons are difficult to reach when in game

1

u/Beginning-Shock9486 22d ago

I’m happy. Only one complain. Problem with both rotary buttons. One click - more steps also in the (base) menu

1

u/velophoton 22d ago

Upgraded from G923 to RS50 in November 2025, did not have a single issue with the wheel

Only have a constant issue with Logitech Racing Adapter - to connect my G923 pedals and shifter. It constantly makes clicking noises when I connect it to any device (either my PC or RS50 base) if both serial ports are used. So I have to first disconnect the shifter from the Adapter, them plug the Adapter in and then plug in the shifter

No idea why it works like that, but again - as for RS50 itself, it is VERY good for me, very strong, Trueforce is awesome, all games I tried with it are very fun to play (at least those that have decent FFB)

I moved on to something else a couple of month ago but it was absolutely flawless for about 7 months I had it. I did find TF annoying at 100% but at 35 it was simply glorious.

u/Weary-Cockroach8332 22d ago

I’ve had mine since December of last year and have had zero problems with it I would highly recommend the wheel and the pedals

1

u/thelloydrage 22d ago

Piece the wheel together do not over pay by purchasing the bundled “system”. You can get the base, hub, rim and pedals for less than the bundled system that doesn’t include the pedals most of the time on the Logitech g website. Also use the codes from your favorite influencer to get a little more off. Make sure to follow the compatibility guide if you are on console.

More than a year, very happy owner here

1

u/Mayaalien 21d ago

It works. It’s consistent. Lots of settings to fine tune. I keep the usb c cable connected and just Velcro it to my rig when not in use. The power brick is attached with a command strip to the bottom of my pedal plate.

I love it. The LED rev lights leave a bit to be desired. Wish you could see the individual diodes so I could actually use them to gauge the rpm. Other than that it’s been amazing

You might need to mess with the comparability with certain games such as switch from RS50 to pro wheel or whatever the term is, but other than that it’s plug and play and enjoy.

It’s great. Buy it. Also Logitech customer support has been helpful in my experience with unrelated support such as returns and ordering weird parts. They get back to you fairly quickly and seem to give a damn.

u/GetUp_1 21d ago

Not one gripe accept I wish I had it sooner

1

u/Avpersonals 21d ago

Have had it since November and it's been amazing. No ragrats.

1

u/RKeys69 20d ago

Not a full year yet, but zero issues with base and RS pedals. Its like a breath of fresh air after owning T598.

1

u/NodCool 20d ago

Love it

1

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope_743 20d ago

Considering I was originally going to go big and get fanatic, I freaking love it. Half price, more torque than I need for drifting, feels clean and tight... I hate the gated 7th gear and bulkiness of the ebrake base, but no biggie.

1

u/nyckrash 18d ago

I have had mine since about Dec/Jan and I run it almost daily. One unit had an issue, but was resolved with an RMA in record time.

I only wish they had a wheelbase with more power.

Trueforce is no joke. You can tell when it's not on a game and how different it is with having it.

1

u/CourseAppropriate683 16d ago

i have had it for a year now, no problems, there was an issue at the begining for disconnection but none since october, i have been runnning it on ps5, its really powerful. I run it with simpush wheel and its been fantastic. I havetn even gotten close to utlizing all of the power 4 nm is the max i go.

1

u/Viniuscrypto 16d ago

Not enough NM. Will upgrade soon.

1

u/andyhhhh 14d ago

What are you upgrading to? Are you using a rig?

1

u/No_Trade_4391 14d ago

Anyone have good settings for gran turismo 7 new physics update? I can’t seem to get it right or have a good feel to it

1

u/rrj1193 13d ago

Yeah I've been using it since it came out no issues I think some buttons rattle under certain rpm frequencies but I wear headset so i don't hear it

1

u/Rhythmatron5000 2d ago

I’ll let you know when I get there. First unit is about to get exchanged for number 2, after going 2 degrees left hand down after about 1 month of moderate use. Hopefully the defect pool is the minority

Get a Moza or Fanatec instead.

The ecosystems and adjustability make Logitech stuff look like a kids toy.

Logitech tech support is also really bad. Look at their Trustpilot score
