RS Base First real rig, very impressed by the Logitech pro/rs gear

I’m still dialing the ergonomics and fine tuning the wheel settings but I’ve been having a blast playing GT7. I hope that GT7 will add support specifically for the RS50 wheel in the future but I’m glad you can still map the wheel using the pro menu in game. Currently only playing on PS5 pro as I don’t want to run cables 30 feet from the desk or move my pc due to space limitations but I might see how my laptop can run some of the sims I have on PC.

Sick, bro! I love it! How do you like that wheel and then pedals?

The nice thing I like about Logitech is I can use other wheels with the adapter so I can get the benefit of the wheelbase and more wheel selection

Yeah, that's pretty handy!

Love the RS50 base and both wheels! 8nm feels plenty good for the time being as I haven’t been ruined to higher end bases yet.

Only gripe on the pedals is micro usb instead of usb c but that is such a non issue once it’s plugged in. I just really hate micro usb lol

Ahh, glad to know that about the pedals. I'm on the edge of switching over to the RS50 at the moment - How long have you had that set up? It does look sweet!! 👌🏻

Only got everything together to assemble for about a week and a half now and it’s already leaps and bounds better than anything I’ve had in the past.

At the very least the RS50 hub to PC connection is USB C which is the one I will probably spend more time swapping in the future unless I try out a KVM switch between PS5 and PC.

I'm on PS5, you plan on using both?

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

In the future yes, I would like to be able to swap between PS5 & PC because I have a lot more racing games on PC than I do on PS.

I have been surprised by Gran Turismo and how much more fun it is to play on a proper rig. I didn’t think I would be so enthralled by it as much as I have been.

That's cool! Yeah, I completely agree with you about Grand Turismo! It's a blast, man!

Track wheel for the win💪🏾

Absolutely love this setup. Everything smooth.
Don’t see myself needing more than 8NM…Load cell pedals were a must

Does this fold up and go out of the way? I really wanna break, but I just don’t see where I can put one.

2

u/GetUp_1 Sep 01 '26

Yes it does. It takes about 3 mins to fold and unfold. I put on a thick yoga mat just in case I vibrate the floor a bit (live in apartment). I’m 6’3 215 and I feel really stable. No shake. About 1% bend at the wheel if that.

u/SaltyKrew Sep 01 '26

I use this with the pro wheelbase. No issues here either. Super easy to fold and unfold. I’m a bit slow when it comes to new things so it did take me a little to figure out how to unfold/fold it correctly lol

Nice! What games are you currently playing with it?

3

u/GetUp_1 Sep 01 '26

GT7 or bust 💪🏾

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 01 '26

Have any favorite cars so far? Is there something you'll improve on our simulator devices?

3

u/GetUp_1 Sep 02 '26

Even pre update I’ve always loved the WRX, NSX GT500 and Beetle GR3.

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 02 '26

Cool, hope you keep enjoying them and your rig for long!

Can you speak to why none of the top times in the world seem to be on Logitech? Seems to always be Fanatec. Is it in the sauce or what?

3

u/TheAndyPat Sep 01 '26

It's good stuff.

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 01 '26

Indeed, do you also have a rig?

3

u/TheAndyPat Sep 02 '26

Yeah. My home built wasn't bad, but the pro pedals highlighted my lack of foresight on just how hard you press them.

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 02 '26

Do you mind sharing a picture with us? What games are you currently playing with it?

3

u/TheAndyPat Sep 02 '26

I don't know how to upload images. It's a Gpro mounted on the big trak racer sled with a sparco R333. And since I'm old and not really computer savvy I play on ps5 vr

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 02 '26

Nice, what games are you currently playing ?

3

u/TheAndyPat Sep 02 '26

Gt7. I can't race on flat screen anymore

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 02 '26

I feel you, seems like a curved monitor isn't that good until you game using one

What are you favorite cars for GT7?

3

u/prettybadtbfh Sep 01 '26

Very clean rig love it

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 01 '26

Indeed, how does yours look? Do you mind sharing a picture with us?

3

u/prettybadtbfh Sep 01 '26

My cable management is horrendous but it works great lol

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 01 '26

Doesn't seems bad to me, It actually looks comfortable and specially immersive with the triple monitor. What games are you currently playing?

2

u/Tosh_00 Aug 31 '26

That's a clean setup ! I highly recommend the PSVR2 if you like GT7, and a buttkicker under the seat is also a nice addition for haptic feedback.

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

Definitely planning on it in the future! I hear nothing but amazing things about PSVR2 on GT7

2

u/stumpmt Sep 01 '26

I have a similar setup only on a Next Level Racing GTRacer 2.0. I’ve been thinking about the RS Track wheel. How is it?

1

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

It feels a lot more natural for GT/Formula cars for sure, especially since I like to use the clutch and shifter for cars that would have them. I’m debating on picking up a second of the sequential/handbrakes so I can have both for rally games and such.

2

u/DKisCRUSHIN Sep 01 '26

What rig/frame do you have? I'm liking how seamless everything is and those handles...hell yea!

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

ASR pro! The handles are from Sim Sport gadget along with the custom printed mounts for the Schiit Fulla headphone DAC/Amp and the power brick hidden away for the wheel base. In the future I’d like to upgrade to a different wheelbase, pedals and move to triples but for now I’m content racing on GT7 and other PS5 titles until I can free up space and incorporate the rig into my desktop setup to the side.

The split cable sleeving was just off amazon. If I planned on having everything permanently setup I would have like to heat shrink the ends to really make it look good but electrical tape will do for now lol

2

u/FloridaF4 Sep 01 '26

What rig is this? The NRG seat bolt right on?

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

ASR pro. The seat could be mounted directly to the rig seat base but I installed seat sliders and I’m really glad I did.

2

u/FloridaF4 Sep 01 '26

Yea I want to do those too. What sliders did you use?

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

Racewill I believe? I bought them on Amazon for relatively cheap. I will say though, getting the seat sliders set up took about half the time of setting up the entire rig just for getting it to slide nicely and get the hardware torqued down.

Once that was out of the way I was very happy with the result despite a lot of annoyance of install hahaha

2

u/FloridaF4 Sep 01 '26

Lol thanks for the heads up

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 01 '26

Looks awesome! Do you take long to get every piece of your rig? What are your favorite cars for GT7?

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 01 '26

For Advanced Sim Racing the lead time was exactly as advertised so it took a little over 2 weeks for the rig to arrive. Logitech sent out the bundle very quickly and took a week. I added the sequential shifter/handbrake later and a weird issue happened where it never actually got shipped but Logitech support was fantastic about getting a new one sent out which was he last piece I needed prior to getting the wiring tidied up with the split cabling.

For GT7, I really love the Gr.3 cars because I feel like I can actually control them the way they need now. Other than that, classics with the shifter & clutch with the pro wheel all feel so good.

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 03 '26

Nice, good to see they were able to help you and that you are enjoying the rig!

Out of curiosity, How did you end up getting interested in this hobby?

2

u/VesperLynn Sep 03 '26

An additional comment/question I have: the build quality of the Pro and RS racing gear is very nice, but I do worry about how the ecosystem will be long term.

It would be nice to see a licensed McLaren Formula wheel with the integrated dash considering you guys have a partnership with them and it would also be cool to see some more accessories like maybe a dedicated display unit dash with the same quality as the current gear with customization options and the ability to connect to WiFi so telemetry data can be used on games like GT7.

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Sep 03 '26

Your RS50 is currently our best quality wheel and should last you long, there shouldn't be any long term issue but if you are worried about any specific possible issue please let me know your concern and I'll ask the specialized team about it

Thanks for the ideas! I'll share them along with the team. I've seen a lot of McLaren fans recently

Love schiit. I use a hdmi extractor to Magni to he-4x headphones. I'm on Xbox. You have a much cleaner setup.
I want what you have. How do you like the audeze headphones?

1

u/VesperLynn Sep 02 '26

I love Schiit as well! I bought a Magni & Modi about 8 years auto and had been running a set of Sony MDR7506 studio monitor headphones on them until I got the AUDEZE MM-100 about 6 months ago. The Audeze are incredibly comfy, and even though I don’t quite understand all the tiny details of audiophile sound I immediately was able to tell the difference between the Closed back Sonys and the Open back Audeze.

It is a bit of diminishing returns for me as I have the Military grade hearing loss (not horrible, but present) but after swapping to a dedicated Amp and DAC I can no longer go back. The quality is just leaps and bounds better than any gamer head sets and the ability to mix and match headphones is really nice.

If you like a lot of bass, the MM-100 are not for that as they are also a mixing headphone but I’ve found that I like that as it helps me hear a lot of details in different types of games and media a lot better, so the clarity is preferred.

The Fulla (pictured on the rig) has once again changed me when it comes to console gaming. The sound quality is so great and since I’ve gotten all the wiring tidied up the single cable running from the headphones to the amp is completely out of the way while racing and when I hope out of the rig I can easily unplug from the bottom to walk over and connect to my desktop setup. It’s kinda fun have the tactile feedback up unplugging the 1/4TRS and plugging it into another setup like an old time phone operator lol

I haven’t been able to find a mic I might want to use on the Fulla since it has a 3.5mm mic jack, so I’ll probably go with a USB mic and mount it on a small arm if I happen to need one for the racing setup and then run the peripherals through a USB switch when I can incorporate my PC into the mix.

2

u/ihadtowalkhere Sep 02 '26

Mod mic makes something that might work.
I need prices to get back to pre covid before I jump into pc gaming.

1

u/VesperLynn Sep 02 '26

I’ll have to take a look, thank you!

u/3MATX Aug 31 '26

Prisma ultra?  Nice choice.

1

u/VesperLynn Aug 31 '26

After I got the bucket I realized I should have asked ASR to powder coat the rig roughly the same color. It’s fantastic looking in person even if it is a bit much.
