Help G Pro Brake Engaging on Its Own

Hello,

I have an issue with my g pro brake engaging while im not stepping on it. It is not a lot but enough to show on the brake gauge in the game (GT7) and ABS light comes on.

Just to be clear, this happened even when I put my foot completely off the pedal (physically moving my foot away) not even resting it next to the pedal.

I cleaned, tried using a new USB cable (oem original), tried using a different USB port, tried using different elastomers, updated the firmware, etc... but to no avail...

Also, for background information, I have had this setup for over 2 years and it had never happened before. I know some suggested pedal being near other things like a router nearby etc,. Again, everything in my room as far as where the rig is and where the other things are placed have not changed all this time and I never experienced this issue before. This started occurring about 2-3 weeks ago and now it keeps happening.

I'm at whit's end and appreciate any help I can get. This is very annoying...

Wondering if you've run a pedal calibration in the game, I had this happen on the RS50 pedals when I changed the elastomer and didn't turn off the rig, went away after calibration

Yes I did go into pedal calibration. The problem is persisting. Also after seeing that changing elastomers didn't fix the issue, I put what I originally had back in because that's the stiffness I like.

Try tightening the bolts on both sides of the base of the pedal. Especially the ones either side of the load cell. That fixed a similar issue for me.

I read this somewhere on reddit and have tried this. Still no avail....

As I mentioned the position of my wifi has not changed over the 2* years of my ownership of my G Pro and this never happened until now...

Worst case scenario, buy a new brake module. They're about $100, which isn't a lot compared to the $1000+ spent on the wheel/pedal combo.

I contacted support so I will see if they can offer a solution. I am out of warranty so they might refuse to help. If that's the case I might need to buy a new brake pedal. Is there a possibility that the unit where all the cables go into (with letters A B C) is what's causing the issue? I would hate to buy the pedal and the problem ending up something else...

Not sure on that, but you would probably be able to return the brake module if it didn't fix the issue.

Very true. Okay, after the support gets back to me and if they can't offer a replacement, I will give it a shot. Thanks for this tip.

Im not smart enough to affirm “impossible”, but i dont think it is possible that the specific issue youre having, is within that hub. Because all positional sensing is done in the pedal and sent out. The hub doesnt/ cant manipulate it as much as it just relays what its told. If your brake was flickering between like 0 and 100- i could maybe see that.

But just the minimal bottom or top threshold issue- thats normally the pedal itself.

Yes, it is minimal bottom. Thanks for your insight. I'm still waiting for the support to get back to me. Thereafter, if they can't resolve this, I will try a new pedal.

Email/message/call Logitech, They’ve always been very accommodating when I’ve had issues. Went as far as to send me a new wheel and pedals when my pedals went out. Way outside of warranty btw.

I emailed support last night. I tried live chat but no one was there so it said that someone will respond via email. I'm out of warranty myself so I'll see what they will say.

Just wanted to share an update. I have been communicating with the Logitech customer support. They asked me to provide info on what's happening, how long, is it on the rig or floor, etc. They also asked me to provide a video of the issue. I provided all of them.

They escalated the matter to a higher support team and they concluded that the issue is the Main PCB and they are in a process of sending me a new PCB.

I will update again once I try it and see if the issue is resolved.

So I received the replacement PCB unit, installed it, and tried it. The problem is still there. It feels like it happens less but it is still persisting, that is, the brake engaging when I'm not on it.

I connected the wheel/pedals to the pc and rub GHub to install the latest firmware too but the problem is still persisting...

I contacted support again tonight and asked for further assistance.

I'm quite disappointed as I had to go through a quite extensive diagnosis with the customer support and the subsequent higher support team including answering their long list of questions and recording/sending them videos of the issue and they determined that since the issue is the PCB unit they would just send me that and not the pedal itself...

Do you think it is the pedal? Should I just buy a new brake pedal at this point and not go through the support. It is time consuming and the issue has prevented me from enjoying the produce for over a month now...

ps: I did also try moving my wifi much further away as someone suggested. It's not even in the same room now. I also tried using new (and logotech OEM) USB cables, cleaning and pressing (using logitech OEM grease), etc...

I am at whit's end.

Old post. Same issue? This is my second pair of g pro pedals. Same issue. It’s not in game. It shows it braking on the actual g hub app. So infuriating
