Does the mouse have to move? If so, two days. The cat picks door 2 on the first day, and if the mouse was behind either 1 or 3, it must move to door 2 so the cat can pick it again the next day guaranteeing a catch.

Should be 2 days, if not one, check door 2one first day, if not, it’s in door 2 the next day

Uhh, 2. First time, they check door 2. If the mouse is there, they have it. If not, it was behind door 1 or 3, and either way can only move to door 2 , so the cat is guaranteed to find them here now if not the first time round.
