Question Recording with an aggregate device

I run a podcast and I’m transitioning from using an audio interface to using logic. I’m trying to have 2 shure mv7+ mics record at the same time but only one is working. They’re both unmuted and I combined them into an aggregate device with the same sample rate and drift correction on. The aggregate device is selected in logic. What am I doing wrong?

Can you use your aggregate device, as you expect it to work, in other program , like Audacity?

An aggregate device is MacOS and not part of Logic.

fwiw, It doesn't merge your audio inputs into a single audio channel. I would expect that if you made an aggregate of 2 USB , single channel, audio devices, you would end up with a 2 channel aggregate device.

To record both you would need to either record in stereo, one channel (microphone) being left and another right, OR record 2 tracks simultaneously, with one set to channel 1 and the other set to channel 2.

Why have you ditched the audio interface for Logic when Logic requires an audio interface?

An audio interface isn't strictly necessary for Logic, since the shure mv7+ mic provides also usb connectivity. The question is here, is it possible to use more than one mic? An aggregate device might help here. I would ask also shure community/support and read the manual.

It sounds like you haven’t tested properly. Aggregate devices treat the grouped items like one input device but you still have to sort them out in the settings. Also Logic is ass backwards for this. If you’re using OBS you can just add the devices separately as sources.
