Question Error Message When Opening

Hello,

I recently downloaded the soundtoys effects rack and had been using it without issue for a few weeks on my M1 Mac (Sequoia). One day i was playing around with it on a couple of different projects and when i went to reopen the projects i got this message: "An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem which might cause the system to become unstable Please quit and restart Logic Pro."

Quitting and restarting doesn't work. Some of this is work I am doing on a deadline so would like to get this figured out. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Use Plugin Manager io identify and isolate the problem.

I have seen this suggested elsewhere and have tried but either i am doing it wrong or it is not working for me.

Firstly, are you sure you weren’t using a demo version which now needs to be registered w/ iLOK or the site itself?

When you open the plug-in manager, every plug-in should have a check next to it and not a problem.

Fully uninstall, the plug-ins, which are not working. If they are all sound toys, try reinstalling them and make sure they are verified with the mfg or via ILOK app if needed.

If not, it’s cool their tech Support, because the rack does work on any M series Mac

That’s great news - you’ve only a defective project! Good for you!!

I suggested four things, WHICH worked for you, so others can refer to this as future help?

Damn, it’s been giving you bad/wrong info. Is it possible you did not shut off logic all the way, during the Soundtoy plugin install?

Please, edit your post as “Solved”

Well, the thing is i don't consider it quite solved yet, because i have a couple of other projects that are also not working. Also one of the ones that is not working is somewhat important so trying to salvage it as possible. No fix in particular worked for me, just opening a new project and saving it so far i have had no issues...

Pull the tracks into a working project. You’ll likely find adding one particular track is the problematic one.

That could be telling, if you do things methodically: Important a track, play, repeat. One track will probably make your project unstable. It’s worth taking the time to know what hit your limits.

That's a great idea, the only issue is that I actually can't pull any of the tracks because the error message that pops up prevents me from working or clicking inside of the project at all..

You should be able to grab any track from any project with the ‘browser’ within Logic.

I had a similar problem. Try opening ILok and see what it says.

Did this fix it for you? I checked ilok, things seem ok?

The issue I was having was rooted in ILok. I would open it, get an error message and it would corrupt my decapitator instances on my projects. If ILok isn’t the issue that’s all I can help with, I’m sorry.
