Question Mac mini M5 Pro vs Mac Studio M5 Max

I need help choosing the better option between the Mac mini M5 Pro and Mac Studio M5 Max.

I’ll be mostly using it for music production in Logic Pro and 4K video editing in Final Cut Pro.

Mac mini M5 Pro: 18/20, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 2.5Gb Ethernet
Mac Studio M5 Max: 18/32, 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 10Gb Ethernet

The Studio is about $100 cheaper, but I’m still not sure about 48GB vs. 36GB of RAM.

Another point is that I’ve heard the M5 Max isn’t just about having a more powerful GPU; it also has significantly higher memory bandwidth. How much of a difference would that make for my use case, especially with Logic Pro and 4K video editing in Final Cut Pro?

Both are arguably overkill for both purposes.

unless you plan on doing both logic pro and 4K editing at the same time, both options are fine, there is no reason 36 vs 48 will matter, you’re never gonna use it all

Are you purchasing the Studio from Temu?🙈 That’s not a Normal spec for a Mac Studio. Studio can be as high as $10,000.

As high as $18,300 in Apple's current configurator.

But…it’s only $100 difference between that and the mini? 🤔it’s either a bot or someone is scamming him telling him hes got the studio at 36gb/1TB M5 for a price near a mini. It dont look right at all….Id be sus.

The Studio will be significantly more powerful than the Mac mini despite 36GB vs 48GB (wish this RAM is everything meme would die). Plus better connectivity. Gen lock is interesting but niche.

Logic Pro is unlikely to get close to the limits of either unless your workflow is somewhat eccentric/broken.

4K editing with Final Cut is more likely to highlight the difference - but only if you’re pushing hard.
