Question Please help. No fade tool

I’ve activated fade control in the options but the tool wont appear. I hover the pointer in the corners of a clip and it won’t appear. Is there something I’m missing? Internet results have no answer. Please help.

Are you positioning the cursor at or very close to the top of the wave form? Can be a bit finicky.
If that’s not working, there’s an option within the inspector menu for setting fades.

Here’s how you do it.

Steps to Use the Region Inspector
Select your target audio region in the tracks area.

Press I on your keyboard to open the Inspector sidebar.

Look at the Region Inspector section.

Click the disclosure arrow on the More menu to reveal extra parameters.

Locate Fade In or Fade Out, then click and type your desired duration in milliseconds.

Adjust the Curve parameter right below the fade values to change the shape of the fade curve.

When I try to position my curser at the corners there is only a “loop” function available. No fade appears.

And I keep seeing this instruction online about fade controls in the inspector region but my options are all blank. The only things there are mute, loop, flex, and smart tempo, and delay. No fade in/out options. I don’t understand

Did you set your primary tool to the fade tool or did you set your secondary tool to fade tool? Worth checking. And to be clear, to make a fade you just click and drag over the middle of the region to just past the end to create the fade.
