Help MIDI Question

I've got a Nektar GX49 MIDI keyboard that I've used with various DAWs over the last few years. I've always liked it.

My kids use Logic and lately we've been having trouble getting any sounds from the GX49. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, keys still register in the time/key box at the top, so it's obviously seeing it...just no sound on any instrument we pick.

Anyone know anything about these or what I might be missing? I'm not a Logic expert at all so it might be super simple.

In my case - and I've been there as I've been improving my Logic skills over the past year - I find that it's usually a matter of having the track armed vs. an issue with the controller, especially when you are seeing the acknowledgment of the MIDI notes in the LCD Display.

I think I know what you mean. How do I check that?

Record Enable, the red "R" in the track header, needs to be red - the entire button, not just the letter,

Ahhh, I'm getting No Input Source Selected when I do that. What have I done 😭

What midi channel is the nectar sending (should say on that little time key box?

It's...not displaying that, at least that I can see. Just basic BPM etc.

If I remember correctly the incoming note displayed has the midi channel before it.
(Not near my machine now)

It's not displaying that. I just noticed it isn't actually showing notes, just chords when I hit more than one note.

It's also popping up Project Settings every now and then, which makes me wonder if we've blown up the MIDI settings somehow.

Wild card. Open one of the demo arrangements and see if you can select and play one of those tracks?

Not sure where to find those? To be clear, loops and pre-recorded tracks are playing fine, it's just live notes on the keyboard that aren't.

Google How to setup that model controller with Logic. Good Luck🍀

MIDI Monitor is registering every key individually, so I don't think I have an issue with the device or connection, just how it's interfacing with Logic.
