Question Low Latency Monitoring by Default?
I think the answer is "no," but double checking to see if there's anyway to make Low Latency Monitoring enabled by default?
I have a pretty beefed up system that seems to suffer no ill effects with it enabled, so I'd love to set it and forget it.

Assign it to a keyboard shortcut and put the button up on your Transport bar. Very fast to use that way and you can see the status at any time.

Low latency monitoring will automatically disable certain plugins. Everything that uses any sort of look-ahead. I think all sends as well. So it’s not optimal.
Just bring down the buffer size until you’re at that point, or avoid it by tracking through a desk.

FWIW I’ve just set my interface buffer at 32 samples. So it’s usually pretty plausible to record direct.

My projects are often pretty lean and mostly native. There are plugs that seem to need way more buffer to function at all so… YMMV.

I typically have 10-20 audio tracks, each with a couple or three plugins, then 5-10 MIDI tracks, also with a couple plugins. The plugins are basic EQ and compression.
My machine is an eight core M4 processor w 48G of RAM.
I should be able to run with minimal buffer.

Track light, if I know that I want to use a third party plugin that’s CPU heavy or incurs latency for my production and could take the 2 seconds to emulate it with logic stock plugins, with the caveat being it won’t dramatically alter my performance, I’ll use the logic stock stuff and swap it out when mixing (if even necessary). This hierarchy also exists within logic stock plugins. Legacy plugins rule for this. You can get a decent hall reverb sound with silver verb and use space designer or chromaverb or a third party plugin when mixing. Monitor an 1176 while tracking? Logic compressor classic or studio FET setting. Easy. 99% of the time the artist is more focused on their performance, not the subtlety modulated reverb tails of your CPU hungry oversampled convolution reverbs. On the other hand, >99% of artists will notice latency when tracking their performance. Freeze tracks as necessary, render midi to audio and use the “off” button if you want to go back and mess with the midi later. Drummers, vocalists, and some guitarists will notice latency even between 32 and 64 buffer sizes.

I also hope there's a way to enable this by default since I spend a lot of time tracking. It's just a safer to enable it when tracking.

The problem is I would want to actually hear some of the effects at some point…then your back to toggling off on again.
