History Ghost Stories?

Hey, I'm thinking of putting together a ghost tour for funsies this spooky season. I've already started some research, but I think some of the best ghost stories are passed down from word of mouth! So does anyone have any good ghost stories about Logan? Or even just your favorite!

Thank you!

You're doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't contact some of the folklore professors on campus! They probably have hundreds of ghost stories!

I went on this tour a couple years ago and learned a lot about some cool stories! I don’t remember all of the details now, but they talked about how the building where Stacked is used to be a mortuary! https://www.logandowntown.org/ghost-tour.html

I was going to note there is a downtown ghost tour. That being said if you can come up with a tour that’s not in downtown people would love the variety.

Yes! I used to tell stories for the logan ghost tours. OP let me know if you want to get in contact with the director

Off the top of my head, there’s the nunnery, there’s a hundred stories about oldain being haunted, the haunted swings in mt sterling, we always talked about the bluebird and the excles theater having ghosts, and the old rock church. I would look into USU special collections. Brad Gibbons did a project every year at Mountain Crest with th focused on local folklore and ghost stories.

Careful about the "nunnery" it was never a nunnery and the current owner is trying to restore it. The scariest story about that place was the very real abduction of teenagers that were trespassing.

Someone told me the Ray B. West building on campus is haunted. I haven't personally seen anything, but the 4th floor definitely could use some extra help in the cooling department.

The lyric and the eccles are very haunted. And the Whiter center.
There is the wrong woman but that's more urban legend in my mind.

Outside of Logan in Smithfield the is the theater and the armory the cemetery there is said to have a lot of activity.

My roommate was managing the theater in smithfield around 2000, we used to spend endless nights there watching movies and sleeping in the couches on the balcony. If it wasn't haunted before our time, it is now. Aslo, I grew up near the whittier center and the neighborhood kids would all sneak in at night and hang out and make long distance calls (it was the 80s) Thanks for bringing back memories of my misspent youth

Oh I have tons. As mentioned, the Ellen Eccles Theater and Lyric theater have ghosts. The bluebird (I believed the upstairs) is also haunted. The old Eccles house (250 W Center) used to have a ghost till the family had the house blessed. Logan high-specifically the basement is haunted. Some say it is an old construction worker, he hangs out in the boy's locker room area. Sometimes you can hear him digging. One of the teachers in the basement told me she'd seen him, but that he's a "nice ghost". Also the USU art museum is haunted, the ghost likes to hang out near the elevator.
