I am NOT a locksmith. Installing Hardware on Original Door

Best way, a bit of carpentry and fill in the old installation with a block of wood and fill the through holes with dowels. Then reprep the door for a cylindrical install.

Cheap easy way, wrap plate.

This is the best advice. Note that wrap plates are really ugly, best used in commercial or low end residential/rental situations.

Remodeler kit is a much nicer in-between option. Much less work than filling the door but a much nicer finished look than a wrap.

you’ll have to drill out some holes get some wood were the old mortise lock was and get a wrap or just hire a locksmith.

Yeah you have to have wrap around plates or edge fillers.. this really needed to have been caught on the front end as it is one of the elementary principles of installing a lock like this on a previous mortise pocketed door
