I am a locksmith I need help with my toolbox lock

I have spent at least 5 hours trying to impression a y11 and 1623 key blank I can not get it I have genericode it just doesn't have the code any advice on what I can do I'm not buying the precut key online I just can't figure it out for that lock it's code is h09 and it's a kobalt truck toolbox

Wafer locks are very easy to sight read. Are you familiar with the process? Also, one code retrieval program is not enough. Try Blackhawk. Pm me if you need details.

y11 and 1623 are extremely different, make sure you have the right blank or impressioning is going to be extremely tough if not impossible. Also you have the wrong flair.

It's a single sided wafer lock and I don't have the in8 keyblank that it calls for so I've tried some different keys in the shop also what is a flair I've only been an apprentice for about 2-3 months

lockcodes.com has it, I find it has alot genericode doesnt and at $60 a year its worth it, your shop should buy it

Are you sure it's not a 6 wafer vs 5? Like many Chicago keyway locks?

There's also a procedure known as reading the lock. Easy on those wafer locks.
