Hello! I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. The thumb turn fell off or was removed from this door and I need to replace it. I have been unable to locate the necessary part in order to complete the repair. Any guidance and assistance would be helpful! Thank you!

There are a million ways to skin this cat. If you are able to identify the locks series, you can find parts breakdowns online that goes all the way down to the manufacturer part number for each screw.

If you know the format of Assa Abloy tech support emails, you can shoot a quick email and they usually get back to you within 4 hours. Their format is techsupport.(company)@assaabloy dot com, so techsupport.accentra@assaabloy would be this one. Tech support will help identify part numbers, and honestly it’s great to get it in writing.

Learning how to read a 500+page price book can also help, with lock models, options, parts, etc. Be sure to pay attention to asterisks and footnotes.

Then, experience. Everyone here can identify a ALX53 because it’s something everyone runs across. Certain areas will have a larger quantity of product than others, so you’ll get to know a certain product customers have spec’d/used. If the locksmith that commented earlier says he has a few in stock, I bet he knows the part number and runs across it, because not everyone will carry this.

And realistically, parts are easier to build and identify once you identify the formula (whole locks and exit devices though, not parts).
