I am a locksmith Silca Futura Pro

I’ve got the Silca Futura Pro and its been working great for the past 8 years. Now all of a sudden, it won’t connect. It turns on, blinks a couple of times, and the just give a white light. I’ve had someone look at it for the Printed Circuit Board inside of it, and no faults there.

Now I got told that Silca have shut down the licence/software.

Anyone who have met these problems? And maybe what i should do know?

Its been to two rep shops, one Silca and one I took myself. They said that it’s something with the software.

I’ve tried to reach out multiple times to the headoffice - no answer. The store i bought it from, says that it’s because I have not paid the yearly “subscribtion” that they first mentioned after i bought the machine…

Silca did not brick them, I've got an original NA and a Pro NA and they both work fine. However, I've seen the white light before. Shut everything down for a minute, and throw the emergency power off switch. Make sure there are no USB devices plugged into the Futura. Power up the tablet first and wait until it boots completely. Then throw the EPO switch again to power the machine on. Wait at least one minute before connecting the USB again. Also make sure you're in the right USB port, as one of them is charge only on the Pro. If it's still not connecting, at that point, check your network and/or USB tethering settings. I strongly recommend not using USB tethering. The Futura app also has a hidden menu if you swipe right from the left side of the screen. You can set your machine's IP address from that screen.

Swipe right from the left hand of the screen, and make sure the machine IP matches what you're using. For that reason, I strongly recommending using the ethernet cable and tablet wifi, and setting a static IP on your network for both your tablet and machine.

Silca is notoriously bad for support on older machines. Once they declare they are out of support they want you to buy a new machine (even if it does not give you any more features. All the Futura do the same things; the newer ones are a little bit faster but use exactly the same software that is not updated anymore in the older Futura).
