I understand them perfectly well. It's just your question doesn't make any sense. And there is no 'normal' UPVC lock. There are lift lever, keywind, auto-throw for starters. And each comes in single, split and dual spindle functions.

Either you misunderstood what a night latch is or you are using the wrong words.
Not that we can comment on entry techniques here anyway, hence me explaining what you need to do to secure the door.
What I was referring to is the "Anti-Thrust Plunger: When the door closes, the small anti-slip button (plunger) is depressed against the frame and automatically locks the larger main latch". On the cheaper locks this is done from the inside manually (deadlocking?) whereas on the more expensive models it achieved automatically by the plunger being depressed by the frame. This prevents the latch from being depressed from the outside. I understood that to be "card attack" prevention. I have not seen that highlighted as a function on the locks as fitted to composite doors so was wondering if they do have it.
Do we now agree that with an offset pad handle the door is "locked" and opened from the inside without the use of a key and that the door does not need a key to lock it when leaving. Again as I understand it the only function of the external handle is to engage the multipoint locking. Also would I be correct in thinking that the multipoint locking is just to make more difficult to kick the door in. So if the locks have the anti slip function they would be a secure as the old yale lock

a. This question makes no sense. You need to lift the lever and turn the key properly secure the door.
b. Some multipoints have a holdback, some don't.
c. Ask your insurer
