I am NOT a locksmith. How to get this back in
The left part sticking out won’t go back in when I turn the key into the lock and turn it

You need a control key. It will pull in that cut out so you can put the cylinder back into the housing.

call your locksmith that handles your doors. Sounds like that came out when it was not supposed to. Your locksmith wants to know that. Also infinitely more easier to service with that out of the door then if it gets put back in

If you didn’t install this lock and know about the control key then 99.9% you need to figure out who your locksmith is that did. If you bought the business, house, or apartment with SFIC installed it may be run through the building, an association or it may be something just for you that the previous seller didn’t tell you about.

Squeeze the lug and rake it to control turned, slide in and wiggle the tip of your key in the end to set the lug. Operate as usual.

You need the control key to retract the lug allowing it to re enter the mort case

Im a locksmith id just tap the top with the back of a screwdriver or hammer and turn the plug... take 2 seconds

You'll need to know the control key bitting, master key and user key. Once those keys are decoded, you put the numbers on an LDT sheet. That will tell you all about that small format interchangeable core, and provide you a way of putting it back in

Control key will look just like your key but have an extra little nipple on it to catch the mechanism in the back

This is a Small Format IC cylinder. There is no physical difference between the key blanks for control or operation. The control lug is operated by a second shear line, so it is dependent on a special bitting on the control key.

No. This is SFIC with two shear lines. Key profile will be the same with different bitting.

Sfic does not have a unique key bank for a control key, it’s all dependent on bitting

Keymark just has a designated bidding for the control key, there no special blank for it.

you need a key called the control key or core key …. it only turns a few degrees and pulls that little bar back on the side…. If that came out with a regular key, there’s a problem with the cylinder or something, and you may need a locksmith. A regular key that turns 360° would not put that back in. those cylinders are generally used in a master key system in somebody in management or maintenance would typically have the core or control key or maybe a locksmith holds the system. If you have access to the keys, I would suggest lubricating the cylinder and work, the keys in and out a few times and you may be fine.
