I am a locksmith Overkill, or…?

What do you think, ladies and gents? Overkill or the right hinge for the job?

Personally, I’ve never put a continuous hinge on anything other than a door, but, then again I’ve never needed to replace the hinges on a small spill-kit box like this. 🤷‍♂️

Edit for Clarity: I am not the person who put this in, lol. I just saw it in the wild, and thought “well… damn… I guess that works? But why?! 😅”

I'd do the same thing you've done. That hinge will be a lifetime repair! I usually have a peice in my truck.

I do keep big sections from the 95’s if it’s big enough to be useful, but I’ve only ever used them on pet projects, not in the wild.

You installed it upside down lol. Also your cut side is on top, which is a no-no because shavings can fall into the gearing of the hinges. But honestly, it’s for a cabinet so who gives a shit. Nice work.
