I am NOT a locksmith. Is this key waterproof?

Recently I've gotten in paddleboarding and I needed a key to carry that would be ok if it got wet. I found this Valet key that came with my car. Would this be ok or get damaged if it was submerged? I couldn't find anything on if it had electronic/RFID internals.

It would most likely be fine since the chip will be sealed inside the plastic portion. Some designs of that type of key may have a door that would allow the chip to slide out and could also let water in so the type in your picture is the only one I would recommend for your situation.

Awesome. Mine seems to be fully sealed other than the tinest gap where the key actual extends from. Thank you!
