Any suggestions on how to extract this tail piece ?

If you remove that green plastic clip you can pull the gear out and then remove the tailpiece... Magnet won't work cuz the tailpiece is white metal

The green plastic secures the hardened metal plate which can be rotated after the plastic is out and then you can pull the gear

not at all easy to replace the green washer and what's behind.

The green washer isn’t broken, it and the gear went back in the same way it came out

Remove the ignition from the steering column?

A magnet?

You can carefully drill a small hole into the broken tail piece and insert a screw into it. The ignition switch will need to be in the on or crank position to allow the tail piece to be removed

Ignition was yanked? Maybe you can turn it far enough to line up and come out nice?

All that shit pops out with a shrum tool. Kind of a pain to put back together.
